Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

A mod that truly pushes the limits of Hoi4 as a game.
I'd argue that TNO pushed and found the limits of Hoi4, TNO outside of the German civil war isn't a good Hoi4 mod because the game is ultimately about playing big wars and has the appropriate abstractions to best represent that. Representing a cold war and fighting through influence would be far better represented in something like Vicky 2 where economy and diplo are far bigger factors.

I've often comapred TNO to Warhammer 40K due to their ridicilous grimdarkness. But one striking similarity I've never realized until now.
Due to the developers actively sabotage of their setting, like Games Workshop, the TNO inside your head is far better than the real TNO.

This is precisely why the "Custom TNO Super Events" are so popular on Youtube. They're much better when coupled with scenarios made up by someone from an outside perspective. While many scenarios dreamt up by youtubers can't be implemented in-mod for obvious reasons, it is still telling that almost every super event feels really dull compared to the ones made by a bunch of youtards.

One thing that's been bugging me is the apparent invincibility of the partisans in Germany, in both her colonies and the homeland. After 15+ years of genocide and colonization, shouldn't the partisans be destroyed, or at the very least on their last legs?

In Germany proper, there's still antifascists and reds strewn about, even though a victory in WW2 would've bolstered confidence in the System and legitimized it to those skeptical.

Well someone has to be hecking Commies fighting the Fash, even if realistically there would be barely any of them left, or the amount of people collaborating or supporting their local puppet regime would outnumber them after the Soviets completely got flattened.

Personal favorite; the outcomes become increasingly more insane...

There have been insurgencies that have lasted for longer, so it's not that far-fetched. But just like the ones in real life, they would have shrunk to almost nothing. I would imagine the partisan movement eventually shifting from trying to overthrow German rule to living outside of it and just surviving.

But the Polish resistance is absolutely bullshit. There is no way Hans Frank be able to hide it. And no way the Reich would tolerate an active resistance movement, not just in their front yard, but on their fucking front step.

The German resistance would function more like the dissident movement in the Soviet Union.

Honestly, with all the people that were in Chris' orbit or tangentially involved, it's kind of disappointing that all we get is a bunch of recolors for generals. So much potential and they didn't use it.
It does feel kinda surface level, Chris does have way to much of a detailed autistic history where you'd have go all out in order to do a Chris Chan hoi4 path justice.

I think /his/ might be onto something here.

TNO's effects have reached a a lot farther than just the HoI4 modding community. I bet those custom super event videos have had something to do with that.
Rational political discourse on the internet has been fucked for years, at least now I get to laugh at retards more often.
