Frankly the problem largely lies in the fact that when you zoom right the fuck out to view the mod from a "basic general concept/idea" perspective theres a fair few things that look downright promising about the mod's premise that stand out compared to other Nazi Victory mods/stories, i.e. Burgundy as the orwellian extremist nazi hellhole plotting nuclear armageddon while the normie nazis bicker among themselves as their empire decays and fractures, the alternate cold war proxy conflicts between the US and Germany, the ever more insane russian warlords with ever more psychotic plans for unifying the former imperial/soviet territories and other similar concepts and aesthetics.

This lulls the unprepared/uninformed nigga who wants a decent alternate history experience to check the game out....only to discover how utterly fucking pozzed and cancerous the mod is to the very atomic level, from the writing to the minigames to the troon authors pushing their personal communist waifus and self inserts from every direction, not to mention personal politics straight out the Hasan Piker subreddit, and before long they discover 99% of the shit that originally piqued their interest was aggressively purged from the game for being pwoblematic.

Most niggas will just wind up dropping this shit in disgust or going out of their way to ignore it, but a few will desperately hope and cope that those promising concepts that drew them in may yet be redeemed if the writing team magically stops being a clique of angry autistic troons whose only interest is self publishing their own dilation material through the mod

Making an update for ukraine was such a bad choice for the tno team. They couldve focused on developing nations that wouldnt get conquered and die within 3 years after the game start. Maybe the Britain content couldve been actually finished instead of the weird tease we got.

Another thing that bugs me is that Ukraine update wouldve actually been fun if you could survive against germany. An extreme challenge that would make the players come back and try to survive against the major country that outnumbers them.

But my mistake, thats way too unrealistic fellas. Do you know whats realistic? the Germans dropping a nuclear warhead on Kiev if Ukraine survives more than a second.

The last bit of content we got was the Ukraine and Britain update. One is a teaser and the other has like 4 years of content where you lose at the end. TNO at this point has less content than it did on release 3 years ago.

Making entire countries, yet alone focus trees, that all end with the same failstate/bad ending is such shitty designing that any other modders should take notes on what not to do. This is such a waste of free manpower and resources.

Some actual dev gets accused of being anti-trans by some troon (who wrote a fucking thesis just to say that some Chinese guys are being "transphobic"), who is a co-dev (???) and translator.

Then they proceed to have a vote of confidence (??????), the results is 50/50, the Chinaman dev resigns either way (I assume he realized how stupid that shit was) together with other devs also being accused of participating in TTD.

Stuff like can only exists thanks to autistic modding politics, retarded Discord drama and general tranny shit.

CN and Matsuo in particular had it long time coming in my honest opinion. Matsuo's replies were getting goofier by the week and this fucking caesar execution-wannabe shitshow was the culmination of it.

I don't really pity either side because Daffy is an inoperable faggot and Frost is either someone's alt or someone's lapdog, Ashley attention whored in a clearly hostile community and was scratching their own head thinking "WHY DO THEY HATE ME" and Matsuo being himself and sperging out like a complete retard, making fun of himself in the process.

This guy has been famous for a while over there, this is like his 5th mod attempt. He started it as a what if confederates and germany won ww1 with muppets before it eventually morphed into whatever it is now. He is extremely naive and thinks he can make a mod with a 41 years long scope.

I for one welcome this new strain of mod-related autism, and wish for more of it.

In other news, Eigengrau, which I think was mentioned in another message a few pages back in relation to the "Association of HOI4 Mods" (Mod Coop with blackjack and hookers, dead on arrival), died after the single coder they had left the project, resulting in the deletion of the Discord server of the mod. Not a huge surprise, but at least they had the awareness to kill the project instead of larping development for internet points.
