It's really funny how the most they can think of Imperial Japan's paths in TNO is literally just:
>WOWIE ZOWIE! Trannycore Cyberpunk 2077 references!!!!1 JAPAN IS LITERALLY A CYBERPUNK DYSTOPIA!!!!111 [extra coal if they somehow shoehorn in a fucking tranime Lain or Edgerunners reference]
But I might be just biased because I really hate how the cyberpunk genre has degenerated as a whole aside from the original Deus Ex, original Ghost in the Shell SAC, and the two Blade Runner films.

Why would an extremely conservative and traditional culture like Imperial Japan allow a den of degeneracy like Guangdong to exist?

iirc Guangdong has events detailing it to be a Weimar-tier land of degeneracy with a bustling porn industry and Japs freely mixing with Chinks to create Zhujin hapas? Alongside again, the le' heckin epicorino Nintendo and Sony references. It really reads like someone's failed Cyberpunk 2077 roleplay idea that got shoehorned into the game because it was better than no content at all.
marge i havent seen any of that in my kaya run or something, it's 1969
i havent played guangdong btw

I discount current Japan since it's still more or less based on the old lore so my focus was on Guangdong since that's the only Sphere nation that's currently playable with the current 'goals' in mind. But even then the upcoming Japan isn't exactly that interesting.

Kaya is technically a preview of 'new' Jaoan but even then it's basically just what if Japan IRL dominated by LDP chuds broke off from the United States' network and had their own army and nukes.

Some fucker on TNO server just yetted Berezniki submod from associates and banned their lead devs. Which is quite funny because Berezniki devs were cucks who continued to simp even Tnoids they banned most russians.

i also wish that the amur AI would do these focuses instead of wasting their PP on god knows what + more appearences of the NAJUA, outside of 1 event for japan (where some korean clittycel seethes that mt. paeku gets turned into a resort by the nips) and amurs hunt for them there's no mention of them at all

didnt see this but this is why i hate der 'cord, jannies will ban you for the slightest offense and 99% of the time you cant appeal, and even if you try ban evading it's useless because even if you make a new identity you'll probably get noticed
imageboardCHADS stay winning, just reset your router and post again

ok i finished kaya he's a good path or something, probably the most fun ive had in all of tno
sphereBVLLS cant stop winning

Ah, I see. Surprised that the Collective Security Bloc formed before declaring war on the Pakt, is that normal now?
it forms for every unifier except shukshin once they declare war on kazakhstan i think, in this case amur since i wanted my ecosphere to be big

Really? I haven't played 2wrw in a few months, maybe it was a recent change

Tno is a terrible mod but what country is the worst in your opinion and what country is the best in comparison to the others

CWIC is a good concept, and I like how they integrated the economy there, but man does it still feel like an alpha even after like 4 years of dev time. Most soviet foci don't have descriptions, the game and saves are prone to random crashes, the civil wars are depicted in a very rough way, France turned communist while in historical, it's like 10 gigs of storage, and also runs like shit since the mid-60s at least
I agree, the main issue is having 3 start dates, get rid of the 2 focus on 1 start date and then build from there

To be fair, CWIC also deals with a long time period, and it is not good to have to wait for almost 20 in-game years if you want to play as dengist China or Fix Brezhnevs Soviet Union. I think that they can keep the three start dates, but they need to focus in one country until the early 90s historical content+skeleton content for relevant countries. For example, you are playing as the DDR, you would have the historical paths of the DDR until the 90s as well as some relevant skeleton content for the Soviet Union

I'd say go until 2003 for the major countries (USA, USSR, PRC/RoC, DDR/FRD, etc.), and have the different start dates reflect the historical status those countries were in. So for the DDR starting in 1973 as an example, it should have quite a few nuclear power plants, it should have a semi-modern military around 250,000 strong, and a total population of around 18 million. The DDR's economy should be only somewhat lagging behind the FRD's, with extensive industrialization and economic autarky, and should be technologically advanced, almost on par with the USSR.

Instead a 1973 start is the same as a 1949 start.

Could be, having a modular start day can be a bit hard, as I think that Hoi4 forces you to pick the date first and the country second, but all else is true, altough it would be getting into Millenium Dawn territory

Hence the cutoff year of 2003. If you're, say, a DDR that survived the collapse of the USSR, if you're still kicking around by 2003 then it's safe to say that you're gonna be around for a long time and the rest of your alternate history can be made-up in your mind.

Isn't MD already planning on doing this? I remember a few pages back someone posted screenshots from their reddit of 1990s content being work on, but that might have been april fools content though.
I haven't heard of any of this, but I also don't pay attention to any of the mod development news. I just enjoy the new updates if/when they come.

The south african war in tno makes no sense it feels like the devs wanted a fun easy vietnam callback when the war is nothing like how it should realistically be fought. Instead of america sending groundtroops to fight nazis who magically have the numbers to host armies large enough to hold down half of africa along with waging a major war against a superpower all while having a civil war back at home, it would make more sense for america to just ship in guns to the african rebels who would actually be doing most of the fighting. The conflict should be flipped on its head so the germans are the ones dealing with all the internal pressure and protests from sending troops while america is just handing out guns to see germans getting killed. If they wanted their vietnam analogue so bad they could have done something like that with india by having the americans supporting an dictatorship that was being fought by pro japan rebels.
Nah that still makes no sense. Most (99%+) of HoI modders have no critical thinking skills.
The boer were always more politically organized than the english and the defeat of britain in ww2 would mean a collapse of english power. Germany would easily swoop in, supply the boer with guns and such and south africa would become a satellite of germany.
A South Africa in a Nazis-won-WW2-scenario would be dominated by racialist Boer in a volkstaat: it'd be generalplan ost but in South Africa.
