Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

In non-TNO related news, someone made a post about Great War Redux (a mod based off of the older Great War World War 1 mod) on the Reddit sub r/hoi4modding where users talk about how alternate history content was gutted for whatever reason. Some think the developers got a case of "realism" fever.
The developers have had a case of "realism" fever for a while now. Case in point, the Russia content post civil war where you have to deal with the entire Soviet + Russian army disbanding. Oh, and how railroaded the entirety of post war content is. It's surprising they didn't remove the alt history content last time they updated the German focus tree when adding the economic parts of the focus tree.

Just looking at the focus tree it's a mess, none of it flows, and it's meant to become more and more like Kaiserreich (it for instance is eerily similar to the French focus tree). Because apparently every fucking mod has to either be Kaiserreich or TNO.

And there's the influx of adding gimmicky decision mechanics. If I'm playing a world war game, I'm playing it because I want to fight a war. Not constantly click decisions and do a larp of (yes I know politics is a part of war but shit can be applied to exist. There are things like stability and war support for a reason). The only vanilla game country with an ounce of poltiical simulation is the United States, and that it is so limited that it shouldn't really count. - There are what, only 5 focuses linked to congress in a historical play? And even then, it's not a good mechanic.

And the one feature that they could have added for a mechanic that would have made sense, which they didn't, is an adaption of the Mussolini missions for the German Reich.

It's all quite ridiculous considering that the mod isn't even alternate history in nature as it is all about World War 1. The developers very easily relatively speaking could've made it like vanilla HOI4 and have a "Historical AI Focus" option for the people that want a historical experience. This would've pleased everyone and not alienate the players who liked playing with the more absurd or outlandish content.

Both The Fading Order (a TNO 2 submod) and The Red Order (a Fuhrerreich style submod with a three way cold war between the USA, The Soviets and The Western European colonial powers) Got moved to Tv trope's "death wiki," which is for media that haven't been offically released, like toozer mods. Extremis Ultimis barely didn't get moved due to it getting a demo in 2023.

"No, you don't get it. The TVTropes page is the release!"
