I still remember having F1 2020 on my gameslist. I wonder why I haven't playe....FH5 was a big disappointment for me, just felt like FH4 on a new map. The story was absolute cringe as well, everyone sound like they're on coke, constantly telling you that you're the most amazing driver ever, and they never, ever shut the fuck up. Not to mention the amount of brands that were removed such as Alfa and Fiat, or the lazy reused assests, the Vocha should be a later model Beetle but it's just the same car from FH1 felt like a real celebration of car culture, FH5 feels like a participation trophy.
I do enjoy the F1 games though, I think they strike a good balance between accessibility and realism. You can go for a cockpit only 75 race lap if you want, or turn off the flags and damage and have a 3 lap destruction derby. I generally play somewhere in the middle, and like the strategy elements of planning pitstops, and that depending on your team it's not always about having to finish first. Although you do face the inevitable problem of the tracks largely being the same in every game, I wish they'd add a few classic ones as well. There were a few of the classic F1 cars, but EA now own Codemasters so took them out, as well as adding stupid shit like ballet podium emotes. That said, no monetisation yet......
The font change throws me off. I understand the approach is accessibility and welcoming everybody, but no need to coddle your audience like they're ALL children.FH5 was a big disappointment for me, just felt like FH4 on a new map. Most bugs still exist, and lobbies remain unfuckingusable for anything but casual play. Leagues like mine are fukt atm.GT7 was patched earlier today, and most of the changes that were talked about, as damage control, have been implemented. The credit rewards for online races and custom races haven't been increased by much, at all. Roulette payouts are still crap, but at least the roulette itself spins now.
You might like the Dirt series. Not Dirt Rally though as that steers toward realism. The Ridge Racers that were released on PS3 and 360 are also good.I just played an hour of Forza Horizon 4 and I'm considering refunding it because I hate open world racing games. Can anyone give me good recommendations for arcade-y non-open world racing games? For context, my favorite racing game is probably Need For Speed: The Run.
I was all about sim racers until I was able to afford actual cars. Hard to beat the real thing on some hilly roads or the local track.
Now I understand why sim racers bore me. Driving around closed tracks with sports cars, while exhilarating, can lose its luster when you've done it several times.
Forza Motorsport 4 allows you to collect and race civilian cars along with your exotics and imports. There's more personality and expression driving in say a Honda Fit than a Lamborghini.
I tried Hot Pursuit (2010). Turning is a bitch to handle. It relies on artificial drift to make corrections during races. Exotics only doesn't leave much room for variety.NFS has the best soundtracks
try using a gaming remote to steer or check your settings.I tried Hot Pursuit (2010). Turning is a bitch to handle. It relies on artificial drift to make corrections during races. Exotics only doesn't leave much room for variety.
Controller, and there's no option to adjust analog sensitivity. I guess I just have to get used to its handling.try using a gaming remote to steer or check your settings.
i bought FH4 and to my surprise it actually runs, at a playable fps (despite on the lowest graphics) on my dinky little piece of shit laptop.
best.
