racing games - no not racist games you fucking ni

Forever in my heart is Ridge Racer(keep reading) and Grand Prix Legends. The exact opposite of each other.

Ridge Racer series has an absolutely banger soundtrack especially Type 4. I'm so disappointed that they practically killed it off after the PS3 and 360 games. I don't count Unbounded and Drag & Drift as true "Ridge Racers" - it's just in the name.

Although IMO Daytona USA was better as an arcade game. It kinda had the opposite fate of Ridge Racer too, where it flourished in the arcades but failed at home.
I don't get what they're trying to do with this half-realistic half-cel shaded artstyle. Are we getting a Borderlands Need For Speed game for the niglets or what?

Still NO TOYOTAS by the way. Toyota has said that they're no longer giving licenses to NFS because of "safety concerns" or whatever regarding their brand image being apparently tarnished by illegal street racing.

But they still license their cars to Forza Horizon... which clearly have non-sanctioned street racing events.

I played Type 4 for the first time not long ago and it's really good. Unfortunately I'm still too good at ridge racer.

Ridge Racer arcade with the full cabinet and clutch was a really fun and different experience.

I guess nobody is surprised that nfs is nothing but a consoomer franchise

Toyota is retarded and they hate any notion of fun. This is reflected in their car lineup and the kind of people who are fans of the brand. Lexus has some fun cars but they're not all that great. Only sub 40k Toyota sports car has a gay Subaru engine. All of them are tarnished by the aids automatic transmission the Japanese keep putting in them. Should have just sourced the ZF8HP like all the other sports cars out there. That would have made the IS500 immensely more driveable.

Unfortunately the Need for Speed franchise died with EA Black Box, and the cause was EA's 1 year deadlines which EA Black Box could not simply keep up with, with Need for Speed: World's microtransactions not bringing EA the expected millions being the final nail in the coffin.

We will never see another game as great as this one was.

NFS unbound is pretty mediocre. Not in a funny glitchy mess kind of way, but in a generic bad gameplay loop kind of way. I'm only 5 hours into it but from what i hear it doesnt really get better story-mode wise.

I havent touched the multiplayer mode yet but from what i hear thats even more barebones. Its no longer a freeroam with people in it, its a lobby for race playlists (you cannot just do one race, you have to do three afaik).

Have another dab of blatant Toyota favoritism and hypocrisy.

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5, a game centered around illegal racing around Japanese city highways, released around July 2017, has Toyota cars with full aftermarket customization available.

Need for Speed Payback, a game centered around illegal racing around American city streets/highways, released around November 2017, does not have Toyota cars due to the aforementioned "loss of brand image" and "safety concerns".

The difference? One is set and developed in Japan, the other is not. There is nothing else otherwise.

Even though WMMT5 was released 4 months before NFS Payback, I don't see anything that would change their mind on street racing during that period, whether it be a change in management or difference in Japanese/international branch of Toyota. It's still extremely blatant favoritism and hypocrisy on their part.

Maybe that because Forza Horizon is technically a "racing festival," Toyota gave the green light. On that note, why are Supras so popular in Horizon?

Unpopular opinion, Most Wanted is incredibly overrated.
