Why do Sonichu and Rosechu always look like they're somewhere between mildly annoyed to seriously pissed off?

It's because they're shitty rip offs of Sonic, and Chris doesn't understand that he's drawing Sonic's trademark angry eyebrow as the default eye shape of his characters. When Sonic raises his eyebrow, his eyes are actually big and round.

Indeed-- the CWCki features an entire article dedicated to Chris' (mis)understanding of copyright.

Chris has always appeared to be under the mistaken belief that copyright protects general concepts. He's never grasped that it protects specific representations fixed in a tangible medium, and that it would be in his own interest for the protection on today's Night Star drawings to stick around 17 years longer than that of his first electric hedgehog pokemon sketches.
