I'll tell you what's a Chu to do...one last adventure. One last battle. One last zap to the extreme. Bloody, savage revenge. Revenge on the wife who lied to you. Revenge on the children who disrespected you. Revenge on the ponies and Gary Sues who replaced you. Revenge on the city who turned it's back on you. And when CWCville is nothing but rubble and blood flowing in the streets like rivers, and Father has seen what you have done to his precious world and those he spurned you for...then a Chu looks Father in the eye and takes his final revenge for being abandoned and forgotten by the Man he loved most in this life.

I would honestly pay to see someone do this, and I would pay to see Chris reaction because you know this would absolutely break him. Love is love my ass, it's all about zapping to the extreme now...with or without chris and his 27 alters.

Have you ever gotten junk mail from a payday loan company? They send you something that's suppose to look like a check for whatever they know the can approve you for, to get morons all excited they're getting free money. Then there's text on it that says just call or visit today and this check could be REAL! So stupid people who need money show up and the only question they ask is when can I see my cash. Then they end up blowing the money and realizing they have to pay it back and then some.

It's the legal version of the Nigerian prince scam.
I am happy to say that they don't have those where I live. This is pure predatory shit.

Patience padawan.

Edit: A more appropriate reply is that he didn't find them they found him.
Another way of putting it, if I may: Are you the "Mario" who Plays Fair, or the "Bowser/Koopa" who Cheats and Lies?

No. Chris managed to lose several thousand dollars to a loan shark of sorts or something along those lines.

I heard he went to a payday loan place, don't those places normally require you to have a job before they do business with you. Anyway, isn't even Chris smart enough not to fall for a loan shark these days? Shit I guess not.

Oh that explains it, Chris being Chris and doing the usual "I'm not actually listening except to the parts I want to hear."

How is THAT legal?

The only check I ever got in the mail was a fake check from someone who wanted me to cash it for them then buy and send them things in a list, but I got to keep the remainder of the cash afterwards. Which was suspicious enough for me to drop off at the local sheriff's department, who confirmed what I thought, yeah the check was fuck as fuck. They thanked me and said they'd try to track the address to see who sent it.

The check wasn't even a convincing fake, it was clearly printed from basic printer paper. A child going over a postcard with green marker would have made more convincing cash.

However, my story that I just told was straight up a crime. What you described was a legal advertisement.

Fuck I hate America.

They're intentionally going after a certain type of customer. It's not like a real loan for responsible people where they ask you what you need it for, explain to you the terms and make an effort to prove you can afford the payments. That's not what they're looking for. They target people who make bad decisions with their money, cuz they're the easiest to rope into this. They want to lure you in there and hope you make a rash decision or are that desperate. A lot of these places if you go in there and then try to pull out of the deal before signing, if you tell them you need time to think on it, they'll just be like "well hurry up, cuz today only if you take out a loan you get a free $25 prepaid visa card".

A lot of people also get these loans cuz they already have a bunch of debt that's final notice this month, and even though they know it's a bad decision they take out a loan so they can procrastinate and delay the inevitable. Which is likely what Chris did. He was stressed out by all the bills, saw an offer for "free" money and took it so he could fuck off from worrying for another month. I'm sure it would have been harder to talk him out of than into. He did this cuz it made his life easier at the time.

I'm so confused.

The Mario line is a reference to when Chris tried to morality shame Shigeru Miyamoto when he wouldn't provide a plane ticket to come see him.

To be fair, Chris thought it was really Shiggy telling him to come to California to talk to the game about this, normally in business deals like this, the company would at the very least give the promise to reimburse the people they meet with if not pay for their flight.

However Chris believing that the father of gaming wants anything to do with him or would be moved by the most childish metaphor I've ever heard was pretty fucking stupid.

Welcome to being a responsible adult Chris. I think anyone in his current predicament is anxious or nervous about money. Hell, I'm never about money all the time, and I have a pretty great paying job. I guess that quote on that pony shirt telling him to quit adulting was entirely incorrect, and maybe he's slowly starting to realize that his life is going to be absolute shit and he may have to grow up and get a job when Barb's gone.
I have no problem with Chris experiencing financial discomfort as a direct result of his own choices or negligence. Chris getting scammed is a different category though.

The more natural and pure the Chris shenanigans, the more enjoyable. When Idea Guys paint their idea of funny onto Chris, it's super boring and faggy. (like the nazi jokes)
I agree with you. I honestly think Marvin knows what's currently going on with Chris, and has the reason why he's acting all hysterical about money. There was a point earlier this week were I honestly believed that Marvin could be idea guy 2.0, but instead of getting Chris to make a ass of himself or try to get Chris to do something stupid, Marvin would succeed at teaching Chris how to manage his money and balance his check book. Hell, maybe he would even teach Chris valuble surivival skills for when then inevitable comes, but Chris would still manage to set his house on fire. I don't think Marvin wants to reveal what happened because he wants Chris to, but we all know that's going to take forever, so come on Marv, out with it.
I don't really know everything (or even much) of what's going on with Chris at any given moment. However people come to me and bring me clues and information. I get whisperings.

I generally have the policy that if Chris himself hasn't fucked up and leaked it by now, then it doesn't deserve to be leaked.

If Chris can earn privacy by keeping quiet, then he deserves privacy. If he doesn't stay quiet, well then we can enjoy the fallout.
You do know the Cwciki is 90% bullshit, right?
The cwcki as a compendium of content is 100% accurate.

However, the context is heavily manipulated for the purposes of humor.

Is it purely speculation he obtained a cash loan, or just a working theory at this point?

Minor PL, in my legal travels, I have come across a class action lawsuit from a decade or so ago involving PayDay Loans/Money Mart. It had to do with criminal rates of interest (seriously, it was against the criminal code of Canada what they were charging in interest!) on short-term loans. I don't recall all the specifics, but you'd be floored with what a simple 1000 loan worked out to once you repaid at the rates. Anyway, it was a consumer class action and the corporation paid out some money in a pre-trial settlement. They also were subject to hearings by the Utility and Review Boards in various provinces. It was wild shit and a real eye opener in to why never to borrow money from a "payday" lender outfit. Bank better option, but as you said, the people who go to these places are people that aren't going to get a loan at a bank. Desperate would be the clientele they want to see.

Point being, not sure about US and how loan companies are regulated for interest. But if he did go to a money lender outfit, then depending on amount taken out and term of loan...well that would not have been very wise to go there. Also, on the class action, another thing that outfit did was make you pay back full interest, no matter if you wanted to pay the loan off in a month. So, say for 1000 bucks over a 12 month period, your calculated monthly payments worked out to having to pay 1500 in total back. Well, if you went the next month and said I want to fully pay off the loan, you have to pay 1500. It was in the contract you signed. So read the fine print peoples!

So it sounds like he has been scammed, whether by a legal entity or some random prick on the net. I await with interest then til Chris breaks. Cause you won't will ya dude? LOL I agree, if he can shut up about it (which is doubtful since this place exists because he couldn't shut up about stuff) then fine until he spills. Besides, watching him trying not to spill the beans is amusing while we wait anyway. Besides that, he will probably be funnier when he divulges it than you would anyway @Marvin! Just promise us when he does finally let it out, give whatever backstory on shit that you can man.

All this really does go a long way to explain how these two, Barb in particular, have gone into crazy amounts of debt in like 6 years without anything to show for it. I know we like to say its just junk for the horde, but barb is like $45,000 behind? More? She could've filled three homes with goodwill junk for that amount. It makes more sense that she's paying $3 on $1 in accrued interest and penalties.

They eat out constantly. I do that as well when I'm working 70 hour work weeks but that's more because I'm tired as fuck and just need food. It adds up but I take it as a cost for earning a big fat paycheck. As soon as that shit dies down I'm buying groceries and saving money.

You'd be amazed how fast little things like soda, cheeseburgers, candy, etc. adds up. That and Chris loves to waste money on toys and shit just as much as Barb. And you know they have cable and shit so again, it all adds up really quickly.

What's funny to me is that fast food isn't actually cheap. I rarely eat it because there's no franchises around here, but when I have to, it's like "holy shit, $8? Two dollars more and I could've gone to a nice diner or something.". Plus one thing I've noticed is Chris is a sucker for a limited time promo meal. Those tend to be the most expensive items on a menu.

Absolutely, It's not cheap but it's convenient. If you're pressed for time it is worth just shelling out the cash and being done with it. Difference is I work for a living and Chris and Barb are on a fixed income. And it doesn't help people are throwing money at them like it's peanuts at a sideshow.

Barb's got like 3x the credit card debt that Chris has.
True but Chris isn't exactly helping their situation by spending frivolously and not working. I mean shit...even a minimum autismo job would help their situation by leaps and bounds. He's gonna be living in an assisted living home if he's lucky.

Their situation? Heh, he should tell Barb to go fuck herself and lie in the bed she made.
He's gonna be living in an assisted living home if he's lucky.
I can't imagine he'd sign up for that. Or be able to afford that.
