Admittedly, I did post it as a jokey kind of comment, but let's explore this a little further.

I don't think either of us can undermine just how much Chris' laziness has contributed to his position in life. It's always been my personal theory that love was never really that important to Chris above a surface level because nothing was going to outweigh his love for himself. However, if we assume that his love quest was his true and honest goal, then we must consider that if he was brave enough to change his life(get a job, clean his room, etc.) for that goal, that he'd likely be in a much different place.

The fact is that Chris really is afraid of losing the life he's been able to cling to for all these years and that's a large factor in his attitude and actions. At least, in my opinion.

Why is it that everything Chris touches has a transformation and magic?

I had to look up what the fuck an "earth pony" was and it clearly states in all MLP lore that Earth Ponies are non-magical. "They lack the ability to cast magic spells like unicorns, or the ability to stand on clouds like the pegasi." The most unique thing about them is that, "Earth ponies have a special connection to nature, animals, and plants".

So I could get Lightning Quartz could be a great Earth Pony name (nature + rock/gem); and maybe he's the fastest earth pony. Ok that's perfect. But why does he have to transform?? And into one of THE most powerful godlike creatures of MLP ?

I think he is "merging" MLP lore and Neptunia lore. The transformation is akin to the CPU transformation Neptunia characters can do where the personality changes, which is why he mentioned the personality of his new OC.

I think that due to Chris' extreme inward-focus (due to narcissism, autism or otherwise) he doesn't have a concept of what is and isn't attractive nor does he understand how to effectively advertise those qualities.

He's a pants-shitting smelly sped with no real friends and the only regular human contact he has is with a dying snorlax.

Also look at a picture of him. If you were that, wouldn't you want to transform into something else too?

Despite him drawing so many pictures/comics, it seems like Chris has never actively sought out to improve his art skills. His drawings have stagnated for almost 20 years, and the only ones that look even semi-decent are blatantly traced from another source.

Fair points. It is also doubtful that he could sincerely consider the qualities tgat he values in others are worth obtaining due to his percieved perfection.

Because Chris's actual life is completely devoid of magic. His world is a dull grey shapeless vista. Ever since he was a boy it's been clear to him that the bright shiny cartoons on the various glass screens he's owned in his life are far more compelling than what he's experienced in his Virginia suburbs. Loneliness, powerlessness, confusion, obligation, and 14 Branchland Court are the stark limits of his drab existence. Transformation into a goddess, a superhero, a unicorn, a hedgehog, fuck, anything would be better than what he has and what he knows he will always have.

You real expect that he cares about the finer points of the media he consumes or that he understands things like theme or even understands the lore of his favourite franchises?

Everything he makes has transformation and magic because that's the only way he knows to make something interesting and at the end of the day that's all he cares about.

Also taking bets on how long before he forgets about this character.

He certainly cares about his own lore. Wasn't it a point of discussion between him and Alec over Sonichus being a species or a pokemon. And then he did a retcon crossover of Asprechu.

I know he cares about his own lore I meant the lore of the things he takes from to make his lore.
