I don't know if they ever publicly explained why they still verify journalist accounts, but it's essentially a verification of the news (i.e. this person is a journalist for a living so their words hold more credence).

Out of curiosity, do any Kiwis know how long the US government would have to be shut down before would be affected? I recently saw a press conference on NY state having to cut Section 8 housing for the time being and going into emergency funds. I've read that states can elect to cover SNAP and TANF themselves, but does anybody know the probability of that in Virginia?

The last we heard, he was making tentative attempts to get her back onside, as he'd been led to believe that she was another crucially-important CPU Goddess. These attempts were, to the best of our knowledge, flatly ignored. Whatever Megan's character is like, it does seem as though she simply wants nothing more to do with Chris ever again. She's never come across as a particularly vengeful type, so I'm put in the rare position of agreeing with Chris when he says that MKR definitely isn't her.

Quick powerlevel, this picture has always bugged me, but it's interesting to me.
Nothing about Chris looks flattering here. His face says everything; this is one of the few times where at least for a moment, he couldn't weasel his way out of this. Even if he got out 1-2 days later, Chris got fucked by the law, and that hit him especially hard here it seems.

I don’t think any mainstream politician is going to advocate cutting funding for the disabled, the morals of it aside it’d be a PR nightmare.
