No, this was set to premiere on Nick, but it kept getting delayed. Murray had expressed that it was completed about over a year ago, but I'm sure Nick didn't want to go that far left. The tranny story was probably included since the special's inception, and some idiot, liberal exec approved it to premiere in front of a bunch of kids. The higher ups probably shot it down or cancelled it outright until Netflix came knocking. Nick was probably afraid that Zim wouldn't mesh with the demographic, so they decided to give it to Netflix too.
Considering rocko was originally meant to be satire of everyday life '(modern Life) the idea isn't too far off from something the show would have done in it's heyday but really they should have come up with something ANYTHING for Ralph and Ed to not be on speaking terms, because until Ralph comes along there's just so much to like about the special from the orange VHS tapes (loved those as a kid) to the digs at everything from food trucks to darker and edgier reboots.

I call it the "Chris Chan effect". Where the moment he gets into a fanbase, be it on video games, cartoons or anime, suddenly you start to question your willingness to stay in said fanbase either so you dont get associated with Chris or because Chris's presence makes you wonder if being in said fanbase isnt turning you into Chris without you knowing.

This... is a little disturbing. Either Sonichus in chris's head are like pets that you can drag around on a leash, or they're people and have their own lives, and from this it sounds like chris views his make-believe family like pieces of the hoard rather than family like he claims. Maybe this echoes his own feelings on Barb? that he thinks she's disposable?
I've said it before but I think one real reason bronycon shuttered its doors is because in 2017 Chris showed his ugly face at the place and suddenly the kiwis where all over it, that and because he kept making an ass of himself in front of everyone from show VAs to members in the fan community (analysts and animators) I'd say that's also why the show's ending but give the people behind it some credit, even they know it isn't respectable for a cartoon to go on and on forever just taking up airtime as a franchise zombie show.
Not really sure if I agree with that, although you would arguably have a better informed opinion than I would having been there yourself. I feel as though bronycon type shit is well used to and, even expecting, to be visited by retards like Chris, and I can’t imagine the Farms had so much of an impression or impact on the mood at the actual event. Everyone is already aware that you’d likely be a deviant or sped to attend a con like that.
This makes Chris seem waaaay more notable and well-known than he is. Bronycon shut down because the show ran out of steam and viewers, and why have a con about a show that no longer exists and will rapidly diminish in relevance.

I still think that’s assuming too much. Chris is quite notable, but at the same time I doubt he is notable or even unique enough among the other spergs and creeps at bronycon. There are probably hundreds of people who behave worse than Chris, and Kiwis are generally not seen or heard as it kinda defeats the purpose of documenting (arguably stalking if you follow Chris around all day) people.
This is just not true. While Chris may not be the worst, he still stands out as one of the grossest and weirdest around.
