Something I have always wondered is why Phil continues to live in Portland?
Because its Portland, and its become the symbol of everything that is SJW. You're right, I think he'd almost certainly be happier in a smaller (and more affordable) town, but Phil has a tendency to make where he lives an integral part of his identity. Ironically this is much the same as Chris Chan. Maybe its an autism thing, I don't know. But Phil cares about his image, as weird as it is to say, since he doesn't wipe his ass and brags about being homeless. Its still an image though. He wants to present as a vegan/vegtarian translatinx Antifa super soldier who's totally into bicycles and lives in Portland because its hip and cool.
Of course knowing how Phil adjusts his autism to his surroundings, he'd probably just become a faux redneck white supremacist Trump fan or something if he were living in the suburbs.
I'd like to note that ADF is old and fat and cannot hide amongst 20 year olds anymore. He'd be that creepy old guy loitering on campus that would weird everyone out.

He's also so heavily invested in his antifa LARP-ing club, something that he'd not have 1/100th of acceptance in any small college town where you can't hide behind the anonymity that large cities bring. He'd be identified as "problematic" the moment he got off the greyhound dressed head to toe in antifa stickers, patches and emblems with the antifa flag draped over his shoulders like a cape and as much as Phil would claim that he would love to be known as "that problematic antifa" person in some small college liberal arts town, it's only in concept and not in practice.
He's a selfish fat white cunt playing at being a "Latinx," I'm honestly amazed that the other SJWs haven't turned on him for "cultural appropriation" or some such shit considering how they like to eat their own. But yeah, big cities give him slightly more opportunity to peripherally attach himself to some liberal group or another that he wouldn't have on a campus town, especially since he isn't a student or even roughly in the right age demographic. It would be a lot easier for the people he wants to associate with on campus to just ignore him, or even call campus security and kick him out of their safe spaces, which is something the Portland community can't easily do.
An odd thought I had. Phil has real trouble keeping track of his lies. He’ll often post something that totally contradicts an earlier lie and then, when one of us points it out, he’ll make a post indicating that he totally did remember and it’s not a lie Kiwi stalker-bros!
If someone here invented some backstory for him, could he be convinced to adopt it on the basis that he can’t remember his backstory anyway? Like, if someone posted, “I guess Phil’s forgotten that he converted to Islam,” would he then go with it?
Yeah, he's probably dumb enough where he legitimately forgets his lies. Its been speculated that he uses these threads to keep track of his bullshit, and while I think it was intended as a joke, there may indeed be some truth to it. He is just that dumb. You probably could trick him into doing something along those lines, or revealing more info about himself that he doesn't want broadcast, and I've occasionally considered doing so myself. It would be pretty funny, but at the end of the day its just not worth it.
Didn't he stop doing it because people in person made fun of him or told him to knock it off? My memory is fuzzy on the details.
I think it was one of those weird SJW things where he convinced himself that trying to look, act or sound feminine meant you weren't a true and honest tranny because (insert SJW word salad). Also, he sort of has convinced himself that he can pull off that weird sort of androgynous but still sexy and female look that really only women can actually pull off. A skinny tomboyish chick with short hair wearing men's clothing still looks like a woman. Sorry but its true. He's not Ruby Rose, he's just a fat dago with bad tattoos and a chin like Mussolini who dresses like he went through the dumpster behind a Hot Topic and found stuff that was out of style a decade ago.
