Welcome to the League of Lolcows Champion Spotlight, featuring
Phil: The Translatina Lesbiana.
"Give me the asspats I desire, or face my fungal ire!"
Skins:
"Classic Phil"
"Special Forces Phil" [750 RP]
"Ninjakin Phil" [975 RP]
Phil is a melee bruiser/tank who thrives in laning phase, and excels at engages, using a variety of different tactics to increase his movespeed and range.
Fungal Ire (Passive):
Phil's Passive is
Fungal Ire. Phil surrounds himself with a noxious, smelly cloud that comes from mushrooms and other unwashed areas growing on his body. This passive grants Phil the ability to move through kiwis, and causes moves that prioritize lolcows not to target him. Phil loses this bonus if he sets foot in the jungle rivers.
Fungal Ire allows Phil a lot of room to move around in during laning phase. Ignoring unit collision allows for Phil to sit between an enemy lolcow and the kiwis that they're trying to farm, making him quite the lane bully. In team fights, enemies will find it hard to target Phil if he stands near kiwis or allied lolcows, which can make him frustrating to take down.
Name Change (Q):
Phil's Q is
Name Change. Name Change removes any lingering damage effects and debuffs, and empowers Phil's autoattacks. He deals bonus scaling Magic Damage and gains 400 attack range, but drains mana per shot and is slowed for 2 seconds after casting Name Change.
Name Change has a long cooldown, so be prepared to commit to your ranged attacks for extended periods of time, and be sure to have plenty of mana on hand.
Self Care (W):
Phil's W is
Self Care, and is his primary sustain ability. When used, Phil heals for a flat amount, plus a percentage of his missing health. Taking damage from enemies reduces the cooldown of Self Care by 1 second. This can occur once every four seconds.
Self Care is the ability you'll want to use the most when playing as Phil. It has a relatively low mana cost, so spamming it to out-sustain your lane opponent is a valid tactic. Sometimes, it is advantageous to purposefully take damage from your opponent in order to reset the cooldown on Self Care, if you're in a low-damage matchup.
Vagrant (E):
Phil's E is
Vagrant, and has both a passive and active component. Passively, as Phil moves, he gains stacks of
Homelessness, up to 100 stacks. Phil's autoattacks, including those made with buffed by Name Change, consume all stacks of Homelessness and deal bonus magic damage based on the stacks consumed.
When activated, Vagrant grants Phil 100 stacks of Homelessness and increases his movespeed by 30% for 4 seconds. Phil cannot gain stacks of Homelessness while Vagrant is on cooldown.
This is Phil's primary engage tool. Use it to position yourself for as many Name Change casts as you can, while using the movespeed buff to negate the malus of Name Change. It makes a passable escape skill when you need to use Self Care, as well.
Zone of Denial (R):
Phil's ultimate is
Zone of Denial, a long-lasting area-of-effect move that creates a huge, immobile area with Phil at the center. While standing in the Zone, Phil takes drastically reduced damage from enemies, and his abilities are augmented.
Name Change's autoattack buff dramatically increases the more consecutive times it hits an enemy standing in Zone of Denial.
Self Care can be recast within 5 seconds to summon an Asspatter at target location. Phil gains dramatically increased movespeed when moving towards an Asspatter. Interacting with an Asspatter grants Phil a shield that decays over 6 seconds.
Vagrant stacks build twice as fast in the Zone of Denial. Additionally, if Phil reaches 100 stacks of Homelessness while in his Zone of Denial, he gets a stack of
Tattoo, which permanently grants him bonus health and armor.
Use Zone of Denial to stage teamfights. You're very hard to kill while in this zone, and everything you do is buffed! There's absolutely no reason not to use this skill, especially after a fight has started, or a fight at an objective is going to happen. This is the key to using Phil properly.
