Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Why doesn't Chris legally change his last name to Chandler-Sonichu like how he calls himself on Twitter?
Interesting question, there's a few good reasons but who knows what it is.

The obvious one is laziness, but then again changing it to Christine wasn't too long ago.

There's also the cost, I'm assuming Virginia charges money for name changes, and that's less toys for Chris. It's not like gender swapping either, the last name is pretty irrelevant so he could always leave it.

Maybe 2 name changes was enough for 1 lifetime. Ah, who am I kidding, he's probably waiting for Magichu to cross over to this world for real so they can get married for real, because that comes with the name change in Virginia I would presume. After all, why legally change the name now if it's inevitable that they get married in this universe and it fixes itself then?

In all states of the USA, when you get married, the name change is not automatic or free, even if you have XX chromosomes. You have to fill out paperwork with the government and pay money for it. Then you have to fill out paperwork for every bank, utility, Social Security, DMV, you car title, etc, entities you do any official business with, and for all of those you must produce an original government printed marriage certificate (not a photocopy you make or scan in) and those cost money too. So all in all this is very expensive and a giant pain in the ass. Chris will not want to pay money and go through all the bother of doing this if it doesn't make him look "more female." If you do not do any of this, you then keep your original last name.

Right, I assumed the name change costs money. He would wait until the marriage in the real world partially because he'll have all the cwcbucks from his coffers, money stops being an issue for him during the merge, and because then he's going to have his "finalized" paperwork set to do everything all at once instead of half-now and half-later.

I didn't realize they made you change all your accounts for everything individually though, that's a pretty big hassle for something probably just under half of the population goes through, if not more than half due to troons and other name-change reasons. You'd think they'd have standardized systems for that sort of stuff, but I guess the government doesn't care if your bank gets your updated info on time or not.

I think the government likes it like this because we have to pay them for all those copies of the certificate. Yes, you have to go to each business/govt entity separately with their own special copy of the certificate and fill out their own particular paperwork and pretty soon you are ripping your hair out every time you think you've got them all and then realize there are still more to do, and your husband starts bringing you beers without you even asking first lol.

I don't guess Sockness lives in his parents house right?

I thought his mother would have been called by now.

Guess he was from a California mountain town and was banished from home when he revealed to his ultra conservative Christian mother he was gay.

Am I the only person who is unable to access CWCki since two days ago?

It seems that the website is down, and yet it is not in immediate recovery.
