Guys, I have a word about huge price of old toys, and yes, I sperged to resaerch it:
- firstly, it should be in some shape. No, probably a classic set of Lego with circa 20% missing parts will not make a huge price. Probably one can get few bux for it, but the really desired ones are that in original, unopenned boxes, aftter that used, but complete ones, later that with some missing, non-crucial parts, but most of really used toys will not make a giant bid. See this:

this is one of the classic sets from 90's. Even if it didn't have many missing parts, but is used it had maybye stored its value (price is double, but it has nearly 25 years -calculate inflation), but only in offering price, on a specified website, from a proffesional reseller.
It has price at release ~60 USD, if one didn't keep it unopen it had price today at ~125 USD.
And see another classic set, trully classic:

Price at 1989 ~110 USD, price today if in good shape ~280 USD after 33 years. If i'm correct it is only 3% interest per year. Not very good. If some one is good in trade he probably is able to get wealthy on this market, but I'm pretty sure that a random bag of legos from childhood will not make you rich. Yes, some specific sets made a much bigger raid to north, but it is hard to predict what piece of shit will be valuable in future on that market. This isn't a large market, mainly drived by sentiment of not-so-adult guys with some cash. And the true value is not in sets, but in parts. And yes, you guess properly: most valuable parts are that weakest like sails, tensts (en bloc all clothing parts), unique parts produced in small amounts for specific sets.
Imagine You have a mission to buy only three parts fo Spynx. That black tent (produced be TLG for that specific sets and very fragible), that car body (in this colour it was in at least four sets) and a generic grey slop. Grey slop is popular in many sets so you will be able to buy it fast and cheap, car body will be harder to get, but get lucky with buying that fuckin' tent in good shape (best you can do is 10 USD for that small piece).
And remember about navy at all items in hoard, smoking damage, that he wasn't a collector but a child-like hoarder and heavy used all his bricks. Probably he lost some of them, other was destroyed due to his creations and some other was damaged by animals.
