That would explain why he seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth last year and isn't flaunting his connections to Chris anymore.
Maybe they aren't very involved in each others' lives and it's just Chris and Flutter.
Entirely possible in both cases. However:
Caden is still his landlord (although I think I did read somewhere that he transferred ownership as someone else) and might still help with the shop and other things but they probably don't talk to each other unless absolutely necessary and about business.
This brings up something that I've been wondering about for a while.
On paper, ownership of the property was transferred from Essential Estate, LLC and Caden Peck to Essential Estate, LLC and Realty Plus, LLC on 11/20/2023 (see attached). However, Caden is still listed as the in-care-of name on the property card's mailing address. That alone doesn't confer property ownership rights on him, but it does show that he at least has some skin still in the game.
Essential Estate, LLC was registered through
Northwest Registered Agent, also as a Virginia LLC. Because Northwest Registered Agent acts as a proxy between the actual owner of the company and the public, determining ownership based on public record is difficult to say the least. If a list of company officers was available there'd be something to go on, but obtaining that may involve setting up an account with the
Virginia State Corporation Commission and actually spending money with them to obtain it. Additionally, as many LLCs are created as pass-through business entities, the registered agent may be the sole company officer. Either way, I'm not desperate to sink too much effort into this.
However, my suspicion is that Realty Plus, LLC is Caden's company. It was organised through
Legalzoom as a Virginia LLC, with a Thomas Licec Cecil listed as the registered agent at the Big Island address. This has always stuck me as being somewhat odd because 'Licec' is just 'Cecil' spelled backwards, and it makes no sense in the context of the company registration. Note that isn't the sole reason for thinking that Caden is behind Realty Plus, but it is at least strange.
The working theory is that Caden removed his name from the title in order to avoid having the property confiscated in the event that his drug trial had gone south and he went to prison. This led to the creation of Realty Plus, LLC, which served to obfuscate his ownership interest in the property.
As for who Thomas Licec Cecil is, I have no idea. Could be an entirely fictitious person; could be a real one and somebody was just funnin' on the form when creating the company. Everything that has been done here looks legal, at least on the surface; it just seems unlikely that Caden has completely pulled out of the property.
