Probably but it's just human nature to want to be one of the crowd.Aren't horizontal stripes slimming? The cwcki article "Chris and Fashion" says so and cites a Psychology Today article.
I don't think Chris really thought about it being fashionable at all, let alone preppy. I think that's just what Barb got at Goodwill, and Chris wore it. She probably said he looked handsome, and he believed it.

I have a question you guys. In Chris's early writings he uses the phrase "took me for a fall" a few times. What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Is it a real expression? I don't think I've heard it from anyone except him. I have heard the idiom "take the fall [i.e., blame] for sth", but never "take sb/sth for a fall". Here are some examples:
"that female dog took my idea for a fall" --https://sonichu.com/cwcki/Saddest_Heart_in_the_World
"that JERK took my idea for a fall, just like that XXXXX at PVCC did! >(" --https://sonichu.com/cwcki/CWC's_Diary
"a Black, Fat Jerk...approached me and took me for a fall with my trying to find a Boyfriend-Free Girl" --https://sonichu.com/cwcki/Manajerks
Have any of you heard this expression elsewhere, or is it a pure cwc-ism? What does it/is it supposed to mean?
Might have been why he gave up and became a goddess.
Really sad actually.
