Well, the physical distance is the big reason sticking out to me. Also, I think Chris is more brave when he has nothing to lose. Chris would be afraid of offending Anna and driving her away.

It looks like you have to go through places called Tuckahoe and Goochland to get from one to the other. My guess is that is where things start to go wrong.

Do you think he really has a sense of that sort of stuff? I can't really imagine he spends a lot of time thinking about how he comes off to other people.

He doesn't spend a lot of time, no. But when it comes time to make the request, he will prefix it with something like "I know this is a crazy thing to ask but..." He's aware it can be very offensive.

Well, court is public, so getting the spray is not really a risk.

And I'm sure he's a solid worker bee or whatever, but I doubt Chris's PD would attempt to intimidate any observers into leaving.

They'd have no way of knowing any particular person was there for Chris anyway, unless that person weened out in some way (which would probably get them kicked out by the judge or worse).

The Thursday 9:30 A.M. event is a hearing which is for preliminary hearings for felony cases and is likely to have multiple defendants. Only there might Chris get any court dates which are specifically for him.
 
Something I was wondering. Does Chris actually like anyone for their own merits? It seems to me that just about everyone he doesn't hate is either related to him, pats his ass or can give him something. The moment they don't do or give him what he wants, he acts like a complete dick to them. Is there anyone he just enjoys talking to or spending time with, just because he enjoys their company?
 
Nope, to Chris every one apart from Him an Barb are only NPC's that have no use to him unless they can provide something he assigns value too.
