Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

What has always baffled me is Chris's overestimation of his art. Sure, lolcows tend to overestimate their own abilities a lot - G. Tesch thinking she a famous authormodelrapperpainterastronaut, Nookie Bear imagining he has a chance to work for Disney, ADF considering himself a communist ideologue in the league of Marx and Lenin, etc. - but with Chris's comics this is kinda egregious.

An average five-year-old child could see immediately the difference between a Sonichu page and a professional comic. Chris used to think (or still thinks?) his comic could be picked up by DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Archie, etc. I wonder what goes wrong when he looks at one of his pages. Somewhere there must be a massive bungle as the visual information travels from the eye to the brain. I wonder how Chris manages to see the same quality when looking at, say, a page of Archie Sonic and one of his own work.

The comic is comprised entirely of things that Chris likes, and on the odd occasion that he represents something he dislikes, he still does it in a way that is most pleasing to him. It makes him happy, so why wouldn't it make everyone else happy?

It's pretty obvious Chris has a really twisted perception of his art, the question is: why?
If I didn't know any better, I'd say all art looks kind of the same to him, but then again, with Sonichu #5 taking on a rather cargo-culty version of Anime designs, I guess that's not quite it, since he obviously can distinguish different styles at least.
Is his perception of art so flawed that he's unable to tell the difference in quality between images he made and images made by professionals - as in: is he maybe unable to grasp the difference of skill presented and they look kind of the same in quality to him?
Maybe it's just his ego that tells him it must be perfect since it took him all of 5 minutes to draw and color it...

I mean, there's that one infamous fanart with Sonichu and Rosechu where Chris basically said "close but no cigar, rosechu's tail is all wrong" and then posted his take on the same artwork... To anyone, the difference in quality was obvious, yet Chris seems to have been oblivious.
So it boils down to: Is it his perception or his ego making him overestimate the quality of his art? Guess we'll never know.

Does Chris think of Bruce Jenner as a kindred spirit, or somehow a JERK?

(or maybe the better question is: is Chris even aware that Bruce Jenner exists?)

Apologies if this is a nooby question, but how "real" was Ivy? Was she all troll, originally sincere then turned troll, or what?

Assume all Sweethearts are fabrications unless explicitly stated. You'll do just fine.

Thanks. Her Wiki article honestly kind of confused me since it's one of the ones that treats Chris's perceptions of people as fact - Clyde and Panda are married, Ryan Cash exists, etc.

How much interaction did Chris have with other kids outside of school? Were there any other kids on Branchland Ct? He didn't have any siblings or cousins close to his age

The cwcki is written from Chris viewpoint and not entirely factual. That's why Vivian Gee is described as a whiteknight turned troll instead of a troll all along.

What is the dumbest thing you have seen Chris do?

For me it was the Jenkins Jinkies video with the shirt over his head.

Judging your own work and comparing it with other work is difficult for anyone. It seems like most artists, musicians, writers, etc. are either their own worst critics or feel like the world doesn't understand their work. I think Chris is just an extreme version of this phenomenon.

To be fair, it's half and half. A lot of articles are written in keyfabe, sweetheart and Troll articles most notably. But there are also others (most of them written or updated post-tomgirl saga) fairly grounded in reality. It's a little messy and can be hard to figure out but it works. Liquid Chris' pages wouldn't be half as funny without assuming he is true n' honest.
