Do you ever wish you could undiscover Chris Chan?
jfteaAE.png

I was out for lunch yesterday and saw "Fanta" as one of the soda options and immediately thought of recycling. I was using a computer program that would say "working on it..." every time a new page was loading and had flashbacks to THIS IS MY HOUSE. I literally cannot go in or even drive by McDonalds without thinking about Quicky Dee's and Q-sands. The sight of someone sighing... ugh.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world @heyyyJackiePie , besides the will of Chris Chan. I was meant to find Chris Chan. In which case, you were also meant to find him. And that is an encouraging thought.

Reminds me of how the website I do my economics homework on has an option "Grade it Now" which I always hear in my head as "Grade it NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW"

Chris' employment future looks pretty bleak.

However, how long, and to what extent can he support himself selling christorical artifacts ( or even some of Barb's junk?)

There is plenty of it to sell. I know the Chris Chan market is niche and limited, but it exists all the same.

How long can Chris support himself or meet his basic needs by selling his junk?
Well, the tugboat keeps him going, so as long as nothing sinks that, he'll be fine. In the long run, possibly better off than he is, because when Barb goes, she won't be dipping into his finances.

As for the question of the market for his stuff, I don't think it's infinite. He certainly seems to have had some trouble shifting Amiibos. Ten years down the line, the market will probably be non-existent, even if he is able to maintain a constant stream of new Sonichu.

I think a lot of it is purely about his own satisfaction, though. He'd probably still be making Sonichu crap even if no one bought it. I think of him these days as an outsider artist.

But remember, Barb is also collecting SSI. It's reasonable to assume some of her income goes to basic expenses (food, home goods, etc.) as well as other expenses like property tax, etc that benefits Chris. So when she dies, it may actually hurt Chris as he will need to be fully responsible for these costs. But then again, some have argued that Chris' tugboat will increase after Barb's death. Then there's the question of whether the mortgage is fully paid off and if anything remains from what Bob left them. So it's hard to really say.

Many like to debate whether Chris could manage expenses and finances after Barb's death and there are arguments to be made in favor of either opinion. I tend to think Chris can manage basic financial questions like, "can I afford to go to Impulse tonight?" and "how much do I need to save to buy this new lego set". But, I don't think he has the intellect and more importantly the maturity to manage what I'll call "adult" financial questions like taxes, insurance, and property management.

If there's one thing I would strongly advise Chris do is to sell 14 Branchland Ct. after she dies. I don't think he has the maturity to manage the house and it's also very risky to have him in charge of a ~$150,000 investment (assuming that's the value of the home). Case in point, if there was a water leak, could Chris handle it? Both from a property management and financial planning angle, could he handle it? Even with a renovated 14 BL which puts off long term expenses like replacing the roof, siding, etc., I think he'd be much better off in a small apartment simply paying rent once a month. It's less risk and I really don't think Chris even wants to be bothered managing 14 BL.

He's gonna wanna stay in 14 BLC. I think he's really gonna resist leaving there until an adult close to him manages to convince him to leave, it'll probably have to happen in conjunction with a big event that forces him to see that it's too much of a financial obstacle for him. One thing that Chris has to his advantage is a substantial lego collection and tons of free time. I think the best option would be for him to build a magical lego house in the middle of the woods. This way he'd be "off the grid" so to speak. If that plan fails he can always stay in jail, rent-free.

I can't be the only one around here to thinks CWC's shtick has run dry. He's the lolcow equivalent of The Simpsons. Amusing at its prime, but now unfunny shit. I mean, what's the deal with this guy? He's a tranny? What the fuck is so entertaining about that?

I get that the site was based all around the guy (back in the glory years of 2007-2012, at least), but we should be moving onto greener pastures instead of dwelling on this twat.

Indeed. Hence the name change and the extensive discussion in other parts of the forum.

Last time people thought the Chris well dried up, he burned his house down. Recently he's just gotten back into finally creating more Sonichu. I don't see any reason not to keep talking about him, and it's not like the Chris forum prevents discussion of other cows in any way.

WHY, DOG GOD. WHY.

EDIT: I like the sequence.. lots of myspacey angles that keep you wondering about the dog's weight until the last one where , POW, yeah, these dogs are fat as hell.

*knock, knock* The door to The Chandler residence is beaten by excited hands.

"Trick or treaters, already...?" The Chris ponders as he lumbers meticulously through the horde.

Upon opening the door, Chris is greeted to the sight of a 13 year old boy, covered in fresh dirt, holding the skeleton of a familiar dog.

"HAPPY HALLO-WEEN!" the boy cries out, giving Chris the greatest sensory overload of his life.

Old pictures of Chris with the dogs that were never dropped, I think. Not very interesting, but here they are.

He posted at least one of these pictures on the MHS alumni site, but since it was behind a wall no one could see them. Otherwise they haven't been dropped.

Interesting. Yeah, I was going through my imgur, and my "has it been dropped yet?" test was google image search.
