Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

He's master of "WORKIN ON IT!" while doing nothing at all.

I salute you, honorable tugboat captain!

First, let me say, I haven't looked through the pages of threads yet. I'm sorry if I make any duplicates.

I'm aware the answer is probably an emphatic NO, but what do you guys think? It seems like, as a child, he must have been great at 8-bit/16-bit games. I guess that's no real talent though.
It is generally suspected that Chris obsesses about video games out of pure fandom -- "Sonic = Coooo-wooooll!!" -- and not because he's extremely adept at them. I think though that playing them constantly for years must have resulted in a certain aptitude; but Chris seems to improve only very gradually even at things that he likes such as drawing. His current artwork is arguably better than the comics he drew ten years ago, but only very marginally so.

Yeah. You can be good at almost anything if you devote enough time and effort to it. I'm not sure if he gains much of an aptitude though from his years of experience. I mean sure, it probably helps him a little, but I'd be wiling to bet it's more he will keep playing the game over and over again until he gets those sweet trophies.

Judging by Chris' PSN Trophy list you can CLEARLY tell he devotes a large amount of time to video gaming, particularly the ones he really obsesses over ( LBP and most of his Sonic games have all trophies acquired, the exception being Sonic Unleashed, for some reason)

And judging by his comic you can tell he devotes very little time to drawing.

Also, I have a question. Out of all the videos I've seen made since the fire at 14BLC, I have not seen any Transformers among the slowly growing hoard of toys in Chris' room. For that matter, I've mainly only seen poorly customized Amiibos and lego. Did Chris give up on toys that aren't Legos?

He spent $160 on a Transformers set last year.

What I find more important here is the fact he apparently buys Amiibos off Ebay scalpers, meaning his Etsy Sonichu customs are turning him a profit. Three of those Samuses would be one of his Amiibos, Three of His Amiibos are equal in price to that Devastator. That'd be a reasonable profit if not for the fact he uses multiple amiibos for a single custom. But everything is priceless with his tugboat.

For the uninformed on why the hell that Transformer is so damned expensive, it's a recent expensive collectors set that's still relatively high in demand. I've seen it in person at a hobby store a while back, and I can confirm that thing is the size of a small shelving unit. You'd think it'd be more visible in the images of his horde, but I guess even the massive neon green robot has been consumed like the rest of it's bretheren. I'm just surprised he hasn't started buying the even MORE expensive third party figures yet.

He taunted trolls with the fact that the only people who would ever know the full story would be himself, Mia (whose alias he did not mention), the person who put him in contact with her, and his future sweetheart.

I wonder how this one is gonna go

CWC: Mmm yeah i had sex with a prostitute.

???: ....

CWC: What? Is that not okay?

Well, he's just TRUE and HONEST about it.
And let's be serious for a moment... a girl that's willing to be in a relationship with Chris won't be shoo'd away by the revelation of him having had sex with a hooker.

Not sure if this is too spergy, but I'd also like to add to your info that Devastator is the largest Combiner Transformer ever made. The current Transformers toyline "Combiner Wars" is notable for nearly every toy in that line being able to combine with other figures to make a combiner. Some are old standards, like Menasor and Bruticus, and some are brand new combiners, like Optimus Maximus (a combination of Optimus Prime and several other Autobots who were never able to combine before)

The thing I want to point out is that even though these are all combiners, the Constructicons are much larger than the regular toys you buy in the stores, and thusly, Devastator is almost TWICE the size of any other combiner in the Combiner Wars line. This is why it's so much more expensive. You can buy the Superion and Menasor combiner gift sets now with all of their combining bots for about $90-$100

Yet Devastator retailed around $150, and now most people are selling him for closer to $200.

It's also the sort of thing that might come up if you were trying to be honest about your sexual history with a partner. I am sure a lot of guys would lie or hide it, but I see something respectable about a guy who admitted it in an honest and somewhat classy way, saying something like "look, when I was in my late 20's I was really lonely and still a virgin, so I decided to hire a hooker. I didn't do it that often, but having had sex gave me a better understanding of sex and relationships." It's the sort of thing you might bring up in the "there are some things in the past I am not super proud of" conversation on the fifth date or something.

And as you said, someone willing to date someone like that is going to have to be interested in dating someone who is awkward and inexperienced, the sort of guy who has a sparse and weird sex and dating history.

But that doesn't really apply to Chris. He will bring it up early and often, not just do his date, but to her family, friends, passers-by, and anyone else who will listen. And he sees it as a sign of his sexual experience, not a sign of his inexperience.

That is just symptomatic of what I think Chris biggest problem with dating is. He is a shy, awkward, inexperienced guy. That isn't the greatest thing to be in the dating world, but it can work. There will be women who value some of the things Chris can offer. He has lots of time. He is likely to stay with her as long as she will have him. He is a homebody. He tends to think any woman he is interested in is really great.

Those can work to his advantage with a woman who is a shy homebody who isn't attractive to most guys. What he needed to do was roll with it and round off some of the weirder edges. But he did the opposite.

Chris is someone who was basically born in a hole as far as relationships go, and has since spent his life digging the hole deeper and deeper. He is pushing the limits of how completely undesirable it is possible for a human to be.
