Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Is welfare necessary? To some degree, yes. Does Chris deserve it? In my opinion, no.

Some people will simply not be able to hold down a job, let's say certain kinds of disabled people. Autism specifically is tricky, because it's a very broad spectrum and people with the same diagnosis may have incredibly different quirks and problems. Some will be able to be a contributing member of society, while others might not have any chance at all to ever get a job because of their condition, no matter how hard they try.

Chris would be capable to hold down an easy job if he was actually motivated to do so and better himself. The problem with him is that he's content with leeching of the government and doesn't give a shit about even trying, and I believe that those who don't even make the effort to the best of their ability are not deserving of welfare money.

Pre-Tranny Chris could get and hold down a job. The bastard daughter of the Joker and Ben Franklin cant.

I don't get why can't men (who aren't handicapped so bad they can't hold tool in their hand) be put to dig holes or something for their money rather than let them sit home making videos of how to grow man titties and turn ducks into vaginas with magic.

Like sure he won't survive without it, but the legitimacy is questionable when he is still able to do some simple job that doesn't ask for any skills.

You do realize Chris wasn't even capable of mopping floors at Wendy's right? Chris is mentally and physically capable of doing grunt work but entitlement and shitty parenting fucked him up to the point where he's completely unemployable.

Chris could work but he's really lazy.

If borb had raised him better, he'd see the value of having a job. I doubt he'd be a doctor or something, but he could stock shelves or work as a janitor

Walgreens hires disabled people and Chris isn't actually that disabled, are there any Walgreens in his area that he could work in? If Chris can't afford to have Internet, the lulz are gonna die

By the way, how the actual fuck can Chris still afford to have Internet access at all

I can't decide if I feel bad for Chris or if I hate him for refusing people's attempts to legitimately help him

Any welfare system has to have at least one of the following flaws.

1. People who legitimately need it get denied.
2. People who don't need it, get it.
3. Every case is constantly monitored and administration costs are extremely high.

That's just how it is.

As to whether Chris deserves it, I think he has a decent claim, although I see why others think he doesn't. Could he work? Sure. Does he have a real disability which makes it more difficult for him to find a job, more challenging and unpleasant for him to hold a basic job, and puts a fairly low cap on the wage, position, and responsibilities he can attain? Yes.

So taking any Chris specific sentiments out and looking at it objectively, I think the question is this: Should disability payments go only to people who are pretty much incapable of earning any money in the labor force, or should they also go to people who have a disability which seriously hampers their labor force potential? That is a pretty subjective question, and your answer to it should dictate how you feel about Chris getting the tugboat, if you are being fair about it.

Autism makes it really hard to regulate and control your emotions and impulses. Chris would have to get a job working for a company that specifically hires people with mental disorders. Unless his bosses are specifically trained for, expecting, and paid to handle sperg-outs, he'd still be spending most of his time unemployed because he'd get fired every week. Sure, borb failed miserably at preparing him for adult life, but his brain literally can't deal with normal bullshit everyone else thinks mundane.

I have autism and I'm 100% capable of holding a job and even though I might face some challenges, I can get through them. So Autism isn't the reason why Chris wouldn't be able to get a job without significant coaching.

The reason is that Chris has no life experience and his mother has made no effort to instill a work ethic in him. It's obvious that Chris is at least fairly intelligent and he does have potential to do well at a job if someone takes the time to train him, but he has basically been set up to fail.

Agreed. As far as I'm aware, there certainly are no flawless benefit systems, and I strongly doubt there ever will be.
As you say, if the requirements are too rigid it'll screw over those who truly can't get by any other way, and it's probably better to be too lenient than too strict.

As I said earlier, I don't think Chris deserves his tugboat. His autism isn't the culprit here - it's his laziness, sense of entitlement, lack of discipline and motivation that's the main reason why he will probably never have a job, though he does have the mental and physical capabilities to do an easy, low-end job. In the case of Chris, the problem isn't that he's unemployed. In my eyes, all Chris would have to do to "deserve" his tugboat would be to try to the best of his ability, which in his case would be to simply be actively searching for a job.

if someone is high-functioning, they can live around those problems and pretty much fit in as normal
too bad that chris wont bother putting in effort into quelling his autism, and was never given any training on how to.
so he just rubs his head and goes DA AUTISM MEAKS MAH HEAD HURT AND FART!
he can't work with other people like him because he'll start screaming about SLOW IN DA MINDS and how they are WINDOWS TO HELL!!
add to the fact that chris is entitled, he's not long for a job.

Welfare is for niggers, no wonder Chris uses it.
Chris basically is a nigger. He's entitled, he mooches, he sleeps until noon, he begs, he chimpouts in public, he smells like shit, he harasses women, he wastes his welfare on McDoanld's, he's always broke, he steals, he can't speak proper English, he treats people like shit, and he cross dresses more than Eddie Murphy, Tyler Perry, and RuPaul combined.

Just because Chris insists he's high functioning doesn't mean that he actually is. Sure, he's a lot better than my nonverbal second cousin who does things like eat sticks of deodorant and obsessively try to pull braces off the teeth of strangers, but he's a hell of a lot worse than someone like Dan Akroyd, who is obviously very high functioning. There's middle ground. Chris should probably be classed as mid functioning. No amount of "quelling" will stop him from being a complete and total autist.

Dan Aykroyd was even able to incorporate some of his odd mannerisms into a comic persona that worked. You really wouldn't have singled him out as on the spectrum anywhere, though, had he not actually said so.

Would Chris buy some rocks,
Or 3 miniature clocks?
Would Chris tie his shoes,
Or learn to play the blues?
Would Chris buy a yacht,
Or remember the times he's fought?
