Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I wonder if any video footage exists anywhere. Typically, squad cars often have a camera recording these kinds of instances. I know this for a fact because I watch Tru Tv.
That would be neat, but I bet they reuse their tapes. So I'm sure it's gone by this point.

Well I was just reading Chrissy's version of his arrest after assaulting the Game PLace and it struck me as weird how much he struggled to not get handcuffed. Even he has to know that you can't fight back against the police.

Trust Chrissy to make a bad situation worse but I still wonder why he put up so much of a struggle?

(I screamed and Screamed and SCREAMED)

Chris being handcuffed while squealing like a pig always reminds me of this scene of The Simpsons:

Going into ancient Christory: On the Parappa contest...he made "over 120 dummy e-mail accounts" in order to stuff the ballot. This sure took him a lot of effort, much more given this is Chris we are talking about.

....

But he couldnt bother to learn the fucking lyrics of the stupid song in the first place *sigh*

I didn't want to make a new thread, but is the identity of the Magical Man still a real mystery? I contend that someone knows/has a good idea but won't ID him to protect his identity.

Whoa, he really thought it was a sure thing him and Megan would do the do. What a demented piece of scum who has no idea how social relationships grow.

It's Alec Benson Leary. You can tell by the Asperchu medallion he wears.

Yeah, but...
On 2 March 2010 Chris announced that he had made peace with Alec and that Alec had given him an Asperchu medallion,[6] which is believed to be the same medallion the mystery guest wore in the potion video. This strengthened the case that the Magical Man was Alec, burying the hatchet with Chris in person. However, this was debunked when the 25 February phone conversation between Alec and Chris was released, in which their relationship is still quite chilly and Alec doesn't know what Chris did on his birthday. Most likely, Chris had received the medallion in the mail prior to his birthday, and it was totally unrelated to Magical Man until it came in handy as a prop for the transformation.

no, it's alec
How did Chris come to the conclusion that Fatman was Alec in his "Calling Out" videos? I mean, I've never heard the audio of either Alec or Fatman, but I bet they sound nothing alike. Is Chris that :stupid:?

Mystery man is unknown and doesn't want to be involved with Chris anymore. He moved on with his life years ago and we should respect that.

If this really is TRUE and HONEST, then why am I just hearing about this? The identity of the "Magical Man" was supposed to be one of the CWC Inner Circle's best kept secrets.

Oh whatever. I'm never going to believe Vivian = Clyde (nope, never), so maybe I'm also entitled to not believe this. *yawn*

So that's a baby blanket on Chris' bed? I just assumed he favoured extremely bland bedclothes.

Since each stop in which a citation is issued or an arrest is made can be challenged in court, I'm not sure that they reuse the tapes. Actually I'm not even certain they use tapes anymore; they may just record video onto hard drives so that stops can be time-coded and filed easier.

Someone posted about the tapes in another thread a long while back and I was supposed to look into it but didn't.

Hard drives would be a lot more practical nowadays, but I couldn't imagine what they would do if they never reused tapes back when they were more popular. Plus you can't indefinitely challenge the accusation. Actually, I think that once you either pay the ticket or challenge it in court and get a ruling, you've accepted the facts of the event and the recording wouldn't be useful anymore .You probably couldn't challenge anything past that point except procedural fuckups in court or something.

But I don't drive, so I know jack shit about a citizen's rights as they apply to driving.

Well, thank you kindly for asking for my input on the subject. Versus Low-Functioning individuals who generally are likely mentally retarded to a point where all they can say are moans and groans, have Limited physical motion (such as keeping their arms and hands in Praying Mantis position and resists reaching out, or keeping their mouths wide open very often), may be confined in wheelchairs, crutches or such, or may possibly be deformed physically. High-Functioning individuals, such as myself, have better mental capabilities and functions, have better physical motion, and likely are more similar to functioning normal people.

I don't think that a documentary would work, because in order to understand and appriciate the entire Christian Weston Chandler saga, you have to have knowledge of our internet culture. To an outsider, the whole thing would seem weird and it would be misunderstood. To try to introduce Our Pet Lolcow to a new audience of people that aren't already familier with him, in a film format, would be almost undoable. The entire saga of Our Pet Lolcow was a very unique thing that happened for a number of circumstances, but the most important was the existence of the internet and various tools such as Youtube, which allowed the trolling to evolve and happen the way it did. The saga of Our Pet Lolcow is now part of our internet culture, and it makes sense that he's documented online in the cwcki, a 21st century, internet format, than being documented in the old way as in a film.
TL;DR=documentary idea unworkable, remembering him through the cwcki much more proper

I think a documentary would have to be pretty sympathetic towards Chris to work. It could explore the idea that a naive guy can end completely lost and destroyed on the internet. Chris is a unique study in cyber-bullying, and there are a lot of questions to be explored. If nothing else, Chris is a cautionary tale, and it is a tricky and interesting question dividing blame between Chris, his family and support network, and his enemies.

I for one, am not really into "internet culture". Except for this board, all of my time on the internet is either for work or very mainstream surfing. I was fascinated by Chris instantly when I discovered him.

So I am a little less skeptical than you about the possibility of a documentary working. The main reason I think it won't happen is access.

Well yeah, "internet culture" isn't anything more than ordinary humanity (well, frequently dumb teenagers), set loose in a place with a lot less boundaries than in real life. That's not really that important. The big thing you'd have to explain about it is the humor in fucking with people (trolling).

Yeah, access is a big problem, but it'd also be hard to make a documentary film considering all the diverse mediums are involved with Christory. So things like Chris' comics, emails, IRC chats, the mailbag, etc. If you don't effectively incorporate these things, you'd have a lot weaker of understanding of Chris.
