Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Jokes aside, what do you think would REALLY happen once Barb dies? Surely he would call 911 and probably bury her in the cheapest coffin possible with no funeral, but then what? Here is why I think Chris could not manage without Barb.
1. He would not be able to afford all the bills with his tugboat. Chris gets around $1300/ month, and Barb gets a little less, but combined they get a total of around $2,500. This is enough to pay the homes bills. But with Barb gone, her SSI goes away unless Chris cuts her up and stuffs her in the freezer to keep collecting her checks.
2. Chris would probably not know how to fix things such as leaky pipes if they break. 14 blc would be infested with mold of a pipe leaked.
3. With Barb gone, anyone could walk into 14 BLC as they please. Chris hates jerkops, and probably would not call them if someone broke in. He would cry and yell and curse Ye ha me ha, but that is pretty much it. He could get raped, kidnapped, or even worse.
4. If Barb dies before she pays all of her debts ( very likely ), the debts could be passed on to Chris should he choose to stay in 14 blc after her passing. On top of bills and nessesities, he would not be able to afford it.
5. If Chris went back to jail, Barb would not be there to bail him out.
First, Chris would sink even further into depression. If Barb dies in her sleep, he's going to be the one who finds the body and it would probably screw him up further. However, without Barb to worry about, Chris's mood might improve slightly one he realizes his movement isn't as restricted as it used to be, and part of his current depression seems to be the result of Barb's reaction to Bob's death. I think we'll have to wait and see what happens in the end, though.

Financially, Chris isnt dumb enough to neglect the electric bill in favor of vidya. He can make fixed, regular payments just fine, his problem is that any money that he doesn't set aside for bills and food is immediately transmuted into Lego and vidya. As a result, he keeps getting bitten in the ass by sudden, unexpected payments that he can't make because he doesn't know how to save up.

Also, Chris would hide and call the cops if someone broke in to 14BC.

We only get one chance, once per year. This year, it was our turn. Me and my two loyal friends. Up the mountain, they tell you. Through the waterfall. Then you stare into the abyss. Do not be afraid. Simply listen. Listen to what that ancient spirit asks you, and answer, and you shall have your greatest wish granted to you.

We were a long way from the village now. The spirit looked sad - a long way from his people, too, I would imagine. But I could not back down. This spirit could give me everything I wanted.

"Ask me the question, friend." I could barely speak.

"What..." he barked a foul cough. I could hear pain in his growl. "What would happen... when Barb dies?"

"Oh fuck."

People don't buy that shit for more than a buck or something at a garage sale. The only way he'd make any decent money is selling it places like ebay, and there, they want stuff still in the original packaging in near perfect condition if they're going to pay anything decent for it.

Chris almost immediately ruins the value of anything he gets by opening it up and fucking with it then just getting grease all over it and turning it into part of a disgusting hoard.
Really only Chris's stuff is worth money. He has toys and video games that would sell, but he doesn't want to part with any of it. Barb meanwhile has disassembled furniture that's probably missing parts and in shitty condition. Also it probably smells of ammonia from all the pet piss. Couple that with the fact that millenials and Gen-X'rs don't really value antique furniture nearly as much as boomers/ww2 gen. Also even if they made any money.. its just something weens could report them for income tax evasion or sales tax evasion.

How long until Chris spends money on this?
Lol they'd have to make a giant head for him.

A very long time ago I saw this video of some ebin failween doing a "comedy standup routine" about Chris. Back in the day I watched it half assed and rage quitted a minute in.

Does anyone know where I can find this video?

Wasn't that A-Log?

Edit: Actually no, it wasn't, this video doesn't have anything about Chris in it. The one I saw was similar to this and the guy just talking about Chris for like minutes.

The comedy did suck in that video though, but then again leave it up to A-log to fail hard.

This is sort of a pipe dream, but could Phil and Chris ever meet? I think it's entirely possible considering how migratory Phil is, traveling from New England to the west coast and cycling among those states (poor bastards)

And we know Chris can't be arsed to go anywhere unless China is involved, so it would have to happen at 14BC

A Chris, Phil and possibly Greta summit. :horrifying:

I think the only way Phil would do it is if Chris were down with it.

Been looking at Chris' highschool art and wondering how drawings of this quality could devolve into what we'd see in Sonichu three years later. Maybe this is the kind of thing he can produce if he actually TRIES and drawing 40-odd pages of it per issue would just take too much out of him.

I don't think so. Chris probably wouldn't care but a lot of Phil's self esteem seems to be wrapped up in thinking that he's better than Chris. He makes pointless references to CWC, CWCville, or Sonichu at least every couple weeks (for example this Tumblr post from eight days ago).

This is something I also just thought about when going through the pics from "Chris and art"... His earlier pieces (before Sonichu) weren't actually THAT bad, considering his age at the time. "Did he ever aim to improve his skills" might be another question, as it seems like he never practiced new techniques, or studied perspective or anatomy seriously.

I often how much of this is merely Chris' teacher prodding him along to get it done, though I also think what Chris lacks is the ability to keep doing it on a daily basis, of which in an art class such as the one in high school, probably was the only method he had than to go on his own. Just seems like he didn't see a need to be actively doing it outside school.

One piece I always come back to is this...

I often wonder how much of it is Chris' memory of what this area looked like or what he imagined it being. I suppose we'll never know but nice try with the background at least.

And you can see how far he tried with that still-live above. He got the N64 controller about right but the Game Boy is pretty wonky. Chris' work of this period reminded me a lot of what I used to see coming out of a 9th or 10th grade art class I took back in school, there was always those who didn't always improve as well as they could but they took the class anyway just to fulfill how many required credits were needed to graduate. I'm sure had Chris tried to continue in such a further course that perhaps would do quick gesture sketching, he'd fall behind very quickly.
