She's nuts. This has probably been asked before, but why was (and probably still is) Barb not letting Chris stay in his own room? That's messed up.
Other than so Chris can bandage her holey buttocks? This has probably been asked before, but why was (and probably still is) Barb not letting Chris stay in his own room? That's messed up.
Honestly I don't think the wanting to spoon joke is that off the mark. I think we have enough evidence to show that she is fairly possessive about Chris (rarely letting him go out on his own, disliking things like the Emily date, etc). Even Chris, who is fairly whipped, has said things like "She doesn't want me to have a girlfriend and leave her." Hyperbole or not this is fairly damning. This doesn't include what little we know of her pre-Chris past because that's pretty sketch. But if it is true she seems to have had issues with relationships since forever and didn't have the most stable family life.Hiyoo!!
...But seriously. Chris and Barb sharing a room is upsetting enough. Personally, I wonder if it resulted in Chris no longer watching porn (evidenced by the craigslist ad) or simply resigned to watching it with his mom. The implication there being Barb would rather watch porn with her autistic son than be alone.

These would probably be the "happier" reasons.I always thought there was a "final straw moment" like Chris shit the bed again, or got in trouble with jerkops and barb forbade him from his room. Apparently that wasn't the case though. ;(
Nah, the final straw moment was some situation where Chris didn't want to stay in the room with her. No, seriously, Barb might've even gotten physical over this shit.I always thought there was a "final straw moment" like Chris shit the bed again, or got in trouble with jerkops and barb forbade him from his room. Wait what?!?!?! I have no memory of this ever being mentioned. Is there any chance we can have a bit more light shed on the subject? This sounds like some "NO MORE WIRE HANGERS" level shit.Nah, the final straw moment was some situation where Chris didn't want to stay in the room with her. Barb is nuts.
Yeah.So Barb was asking him to stay in the same room as her because she's nuts, Chris refused, and she flipped her shit?
Don't think there's public info on the subject.Wait what?!?!?! I have no memory of this ever being mentioned. Is there any chance we can have a bit more light shed on the subject? This sounds like some "NO MORE WIRE HANGERS" level shit.
From the film Mommie Dearest and this is the most famous quote. Hope the Wikipedia link clears it up a bit more.>NO MORE WIRE HANGERS
wat
I thought Barb was always bluffing when she threatened to throw Chris out, because of the whole "hoarding him" thing.Fatty's gonna do what she says, when she says it, or he's out on his ass. It doesn't always accelerate that fast, mostly because she's got Chris tamed by this point. But it has happened.
Thanks for the info. I thought for a moment that there was some new story in the Chris saga I hadn't heard of with that. I'm not very well rounded when it comes to cinema. From the film Mommie Dearest and this is the most famous quote. Hope the Wikipedia link clears it up a bit more.
It's kind of a moot point, because Chris would never grow a pair and assert himself against a living Barb. If Chris did have balls, he just simply wouldn't be Chris. He'd be Cole. And Barb would definitely throw Cole out if he asserted himself against her.I thought Barb was always bluffing when she threatened to throw Chris out, because of the whole "hoarding him" thing.
If Chris was a superhero, what would he be called? And come to think of it, what super powers would he posses?
I like to think that while Chris is in his early 30s, he could still have a chance of getting out of there. That is, until I remember that Chris has massive debt, timid, has almost no practical skills to help him when Snorlax finally faints for good.
