Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Oh yeah I've seen that one before, but I don't like how they weirdly position the Barbara side to be on top of the Bob side.
Yeah it's funny how Barb's side takes so much space despite only having info from the late 1800s, while Bob's looks smaller even if it goes all the way back to 1570 lol

Actually now that I think about it, it reflects well the dynamics between them in the Borb household.

Sure, and that fits with his general sense of reality - i.e., practically nonexistent.

What I was wondering about was more along the lines of what his mind comes up with to fill in the blanks between someone arriving at work in the morning and leaving for the evening. In other words, what does he think the functions of a given job are, or has he even grasped that concept? He sort-of understands the idea, but there doesn't seem to be much depth to that understanding.
His view of work is definitely influenced by cartoons and TV where characters slack off all the time or rush their jobs and have the rest of the day to goof off because its TV and it would be boring to see characters stuck doing eight hours of work instead of getting into wacky scenarios or going on adventures. His view of work is probably something like Homer Simpson who just sleeps at his desk all day and comically slacks off all the time eating donuts or playing games with his co-workers, or My Little Pony where the characters finish their work in a few minutes with their magic superpowers and then go off to the episodes plot. You spend a few minutes half assing your job and then you have the rest of the day to sit around and be a lazy bum.

I wonder how much of Chris's view of work is influenced by I Love Lucy. There were a bunch of episodes where Lucy would get some sort of job, like working in the chocolate factory. Chris has also reenacted Lucy's vitamin pitch.

Watching the actual clip of the I Love Lucy episode its uncanny how much Lucy's pitch resembles a typical Chris video. Shes unrehearsed, flubbing her lines, and has barley any clue what shes saying. Difference is with I love Lucy it was deliberately written to be incompetent and funny while Chris thinks his videos are on par with a professional commercial or broadcast.

It definitely is a mystery but as others have said, his influences of work is like mostly come from the media he consumed. In the early days, he said he would like an "office job" but never could elaborate. My guess is, he just sees it as sitting down most of the time, and playing around on a computer. I imagine his idea of going into marketing early on in community college, was that he would draw an ad or two, or else look at other people's work and approve or disapprove the designs. Sort of like a test audience picking things they'd like or not like, but instead, Chris would be in charge.

When we got to the begging Sega for a job, he wanted a corner office, and an assistant, who, much like his sweetheart, would do all the work, whereas Chris would I guess, make decisions? Yell into a phone "buy!" or "sell!" based on something?

His roleplay he did with the Legos seemed to shed some light on it, as in Chris had no idea what his wife did other than have a hard day and get yelled at for whatever.

It's absolutely insane how much time Chris has spent around other people in various times of the day, talking to many different people, yet he has absolutely no idea what they do. I guess it culminated in his "real player one" nonsense where he thinks everyone is just some sort of barely thinking zombie, just going to work, shopping, watching tv, fucking, and doing everything like in the Truman show.

This was actually the exact statement that sent me off wondering about it. Not only did he not elaborate, but when the comics did show people at work, they did so in the most superficial ways. Some of that can probably be explained by the need to keep a story moving, but it's doubtful that Chris is even consciously aware of that need given the long-winded tangents his characters go off into.

Allison "sign that, deny this, approve that" Amber fits that mould perfectly, and was another factor in raising the question.

Does anyone know where the original Sonichu license plate is now? I haven't seen anyone post something bragging that they have it. Did the guy that stole it ever admit to it or is it just collecting dust on some ween's shelf right now?

I myself have wondered how much of his work has been influenced by Gilligan's Island considering he used to brag about having the full series on dvd.

He did seem to watch a lot of Family Guy around that same period.
Gesh, autism, plus elderly parents, plus sheltered cluttered environment, plus ancient ass shows PLUS Family Guy?!

Christ almighty, bro's never got a chance.

Would Chris Chan have the mental capacity to speak finnish fluently? And also, does he have a comprehension of suffix and prefixes, cases, verb conjugation, etc. And does he even know finnish is a agglutinative language?

I'd also love to see the progress of Chris learning Japanese since now he started learning it. I wonder if he'll even be able to remember the Kana's let alone Kanji. Would he even know what particles to use as well and would he get used to the word order?
