Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I wonder if on an unconscious level, Chris may have thought that his parents were ashamed of him/didn't really care about him.

I'm sure that's not purely subconscious. Here's a quote from Chris, addressing Miyamoto and trying to convince him to make Sonichu video games happen:

"Y'know... come and visit some of your actual… pa—partial or full business associates in their homes… and that's—and, uh, it's like, y'know, meet their families, and it's like, y'know, then, their families can actually take full faith in the business that they're—that the person that's actually doin’ the business in that family—then, the rest of the family can take full belief and… be proud of that—be more proud of that person and also, uh... show more respect for, uh... you personally."

I suppose that is a valid interpretation of that sentence. I always thought it just meant that Bob/Barb did not believe that Nintendo actually wanted Chris to fly to Washington to meet with them about Sonichu. Chris didn't know how to convince them (and possibly himself) that "Miyamoto" was not a troll, except for a a home visit. He has used the phrase "belief" several other times (I remember it with Ivy and Emily) to refer to believing that someone (usually a troll) was not a troll.

Maybe there are more layers to his statement, but Chris is a not usually a man of many layers (excluding fat, of course).

How did Chris get the idea to impersonate Liquid to Kacey? The calls where he's impersonating Liquid seem too intelligent to be something he came up with himself. How much information did the trolls feed him with regards to how to act?
Also, how the fuck did he learn about kacey and get her number? I don't remember liquid mentioning her in any of his videos until Chris brought her up.

I had a look at Anna's Facebook page because I'm a loser like that and what the fuck is wrong with Watertard!?

Honestly, he's about on the same level as Chris.

Aren't all the aunts dead by now?
The indication in the "Ignored by family" video was that at least some family members are alive to ignore Chris and Barb. My question is why they are ignoring them? Are the Chandlers actions in the wake of Corrina's death so reprehensible that not even their family will look past them?

Would it be wrong to surmise that anyone who is exposed to Chandler radiation is consumed by it?

I think the Harry Potter issue was because it was "stealing the limelight" from Pokemon, not Sonic (Still pretty stupid, but at least has a little more sense since Pokemon wasnt still as established as Sonic when Harry Potter came out)

The irony being that Pokemon is still around and popular with people in various age groups. Sonic is, well... dead.

Anna is just naive about sex. She doesn't understand that they came for WEW. Perhaps some educational films from Sinclair Institute would help her; also videos are available on Redtube to demonstrate the acts taking place.

Both of them are retarded on the topic. It's like listening to third graders discuss sex because it's "naughty".

I have some questions about Chris and pop culture. First off, why does Chris like the things he likes? What about Sonic or Legos or Family Guy appeals to him? And why is it that Chris often seems retarded about popular culture and events (apparently doesn't know who Steven King is, has no real grasp of post-2000 pop culture), and yet is capable of drawing up references to incredibly obscure things? (American Rabbit).
Should I make a thread about this?
Or maybe not on this particular question but a larger discussion of the shows and games Chris is interested in.

Honestly the autism answer is pretty close.

Sonic- Simple gameplay, colorful, repetitive.
Lego- Simple play (obviously depending on what you make), colorful
Family Guy- Cheap, obvious laughs. As opposed to something like Community or Arrested Development with deeper jokes. Also animated.
American Rabbit- $5 VHS bin. No doubt nostalgia plays a huge part of it.

Less specifically he's been sheltered all of his life who has only gone out of state a handful of times. He has experienced very little when it comes to variety in life. That's why his taste in media is fairly bland. Part of having autism is liking things to stay the same and his taste is a part of that. Then there's the fact that he genuinely enjoys it. It may be shit but he likes it so whatevs.

There are times when he likes something different (see Saw) but those are more anomolies with ridiculous reasons (ie his belief that Saw is a compelling and complicated story).
