If Chris wanted to wear the medallion in public he would regardless of trolls and cyber bullies. I'm guessing he doesn't simply because he either lost it in the fire or he's just too lazy to put it on.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but he quit wearing the medallion and the rugby shirts because he thought the trolls wouldn't recognize him if he changed his appearance. This also happened around the time tomgirl started. I can't remember the source, maybe one of the giant email leaks.
