You know, having mentioned Harry Potter in another post, I got thinking about Chris' hatred of the Harry Potter franchise. Yeah, we know about his obsession with brand loyalty, and how he latches onto fads. Heck, his current obsession with collecting every Lego seems to be in that vein. But what I find interesting is that he spews his hatred towards things that aren't even related or really in competition with his obsessions.
For example, Harry Potter doesn't have much to do with Sonic or Pokemon. It was a book series about a boy wizard that was popular when he was younger. By that time, I'm pretty sure Sonic and even Pokemon had already passed their heydays. Moreover, it was an entirely different (and, I believe, older) audience. Do you think Chris just hated Harry Potter because it encouraged people to read, or because he hated fantasy as a literary genre and couldn't elucidate it, or did he really believe they were in competition?
And while we're on that subject, why wouldn't Chris have figured out that other, often childish things that he likes were more often than not in competition with each other? He never voiced any objection to Mario, for example, and even enjoyed Mario Kart, yet that's pretty much in direct competition with Sonic. I think he also sperged out on Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon, which would be in competition with Pokemon. Obviously those things appealed to him in much the same way that Sonic and Pokemon did, but how could he not see that they were competitors? Heck, I think Mario was even more popular than Sonic. Shouldn't that have bugged him?
Ewww.... gross! In fact, everything about this conversation is pretty foul and disgusting.
You know, she's pretty blasé about it all. Granted neither Barb nor her little Chrissun are too astute in the social arena. It may very well have passed for "normal" conversation in the Chandler household. But surely she must have known that talking to your bloody son about his sex dolls isn't exactly encouraged in the outside world. I can't help but wonder if she wasn't trying to embarrass Chris in front of Kacey because she feared losing her precious manchild to another woman.

but I seem to recall an event where Chris was bitching at Barb because he didn't want to keep his sex-dolls in the cupboard because they would melt in there.

Kacey Call 15. His mother is yelling at him about cleaning up (lol) and he's making a bunch of excuses about it and mentions that moving his love doll somewhere will cause it to melt.
