Christian,

Why not make arrangements to meet Megan at Mc Donalds or someplace near The Place and give her your present then.

I hope and you and your family are doing good and well. Summer's just startin' for you, Brianna and Caitlyn; good for y'all.

I'll get to the point, since I have been forced into hiatus from the PokemonLeague by that S.O.B. Mike, I will be unable to hand-deliver the German-English Dictionary to Megan for her Birthday. I would like to meet you somewhere and entrust the Dictionary to your capable hands for delivery to Megan. My only regret is not having been able to make her smile, or see it in my vincinity, since that incident. *sigh* Anyway, please reply to where and when is convient for you.

Peace be with y'all (and for Megan and her family too, please relay that to her for me);

Christian Chandler.

Apparently it was a prominent local case:

Morgan Dana Harrington (July 24, 1989 - October 17, 2009) was a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who disappeared from the John Paul Jones Arena on October 17, 2009 while attending a Metallica concert. Her disappearance initiated one of the largest searches in Charlottesville, Virginia's history. Harrington's remains were discovered three months later in rural farmland, but her death remains a mystery as no suspects have been named. Police have noted a "forensic connection" between the case and another unsolved abduction and assault.

Change of Topic: I like how you an avatar like I do. Except mine is a cat. Little fun.
Chatting about icons...unless it's Skittles, Desi or Kitty, OPL will not be impressed.

On the other hand, I remember having made a half-assed "Bill Riley has dinner" icon some time ago...(as if Fatty remembers that alias :story:)...

This might seem trivial, but something crossed my mind... Chris had to miss Pancake Day due to his aunt's passing. I have a slight feeling, he said something inappropriate, selfish, or embarrassing at the viewing and/or funeral. If so could it be just another reason behind the alienation between them and the rest of the family on both sides? I can't rule out the fact that Chris was not dressed properly for the occasion in addition to complaining about how inconvenient his aunt's passing was. It's not important, I just want to hear what others have to say. I doubt we'll ever know, but some Christorians here might be able to speculate what may have happened. I think something did. Just not what.

Well, he did complain about it in talks with BlueSpike and others, so it's possible he may have made some offhand comments at the funeral itself.

Offhand sounds like a mild way of putting it. But it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that thinks he put his foot in his mouth. And I know some autistic people are inseparable from certain objects that would normally hold no significance to anyone else, even among other autistic people. So it would come as no surprise to me if he did in fact, wear the Medallion during the funeral, seeing as he still wore it on his videos in most of 09. These are just little pieces of a bigger puzzle that was and might still be the gap between the Chandler trio and the rest of the family. The gap between them and Cole is no surprise, but I think the funeral and what may have happened there might have been more or less a reason explaining the alienation. Not going to lose any sleep over it, but it does make me slightly curious.

Not only that, but a failure to understand social conventions (he wore the medallion at his college graduation and for his driver's license picture, for instance) would mean he wouldn't understand the fact that the gravitas of the situation necessitates something that's not, y'know, a clay medallion.

Exactly. I totally forgot to mention that. Even more innapropriate is the fact that it was of a video game character. It wouldn't have been much more appropriate even it it was made from gold or silver (if it looked the same). It would still be ill-fitting for the situation. Lack of empathy might not be a prime factor but definitely a contributing one. These are all 'if's' of course. But all are possibilities. But regardless, even most high-functioning autistic people would agree with your statement, A funeral is no place for a cartooney ( and not that well-crafted) clay pendant that sticks out. I'm guessing he may have given a not-so-heartfelt, and inappropriate eulogy. This is all theory, not proven. I'm not saying it was the prime factor of the family not talking but if most of this is true, then it could have indeed played a big part.
