Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I don't know any of the details, but is it true if you are on disability it affects how much you make? From what we know of the CWCki, Bob told Chris he would make more on assistance. Is where Bob was coming from?

Up to a certain point, no. You can make a certain amount of income before it impacts your tugboat. I can't remember if the amount's set federally or if it varies state to state, but I believe it's about $1000 a month. Then they reduce your SSDI for every dollar you make over the amount. You can even hold down a regular job and still technically get SSDI benefits such as medical insurance after they stop sending you money altogether.

I think all the GC's in Charlottesville are closed. Closest one is in Waynesboro, about 30 minutes away. None of the Chandler Cars would be able to make it.

*edit*

There's not even a country cookin' in charlottesville anymore. There's one in Orange, which I think is kinda close, but not close enough to take a Chandler car.

I'm just still amazed that a seventy-something year old woman can end up with a criminal conviction. Aren't you supposed to be a little beyond that type of thing by the time you hit your seinor years?

You're supposed to be. But behaving like normal people never did come easy for the Chandlers.

Senility probably played a role in her actions. If she had been 20 years younger, maybe it would have mitigated the incident.

Just how big of a blessing was the GAME PLACe to Borb? Did they themselves suffer for Chris not being able to go there?
I assume they valued it as a "baby sitting service" a place they could dump their manchild off for hours at a time while they did... well I don't know what.. hoard/sleep maybe..
I know they made a huge effort to try to bully Snyder into taking their boy back. Was that done out of compassion for Chris to enjoy his eden, or was it mainly selfish, to get him out of their hair?

Is Chris more of a character in Brave New World or 1984? Is he one of the proles, living in a world of constantly rewritten history and ignoring the things that cause one to consider contradictions, and being denied love by forces greater than he? Or is he living in a world where love is unnecessary, all sex is recreational, and he bides his time away with pointless distractions and always buying new things when the old ones break down? He does spend a lot of time alone, and according to Huxley, this is a waste of time, and he never gets to participate in any orgies. But everyone in 1984 has to work, something Chris refuses to do, and he'll never even get the chance to violate his state's apparent law of Virgina is for Virgins with a willing participant.

This is a question that has vexed me ever since I first discovered Chris.

If his firm belief in the efficacy of marketing is any indication, Brave New World, most def.

Don't know for sure, but at a guess I'd say they tried to bully Snyder pretty much out of reflex. Borb was used to getting their way and appear have reacted all out of proportion to reality when they didn't. Pretty typical rednecks, really. They tried to bully Chris'tard's elementary school and fled the area when they failed. They bullied Fatty's high school into supplying their special snowflake with pity gal-pals. They've tried to bully store owners and restaurant managers. Hell, they probably tried to bully various neighbors until they finally wound up back at 14BC, where there's enough space to keep their hillbilly hijinks out of eyeshot.

I doubt Blob was senile when she attacked the cop. I'd attribute her actions to a combination of her being used to getting her way, her just loosing her husband, plain old hillbilly craziness and her not wanting to lose her autistic little gofer.
