Kinda OT, but I thought I'd point out that the Britney perfume sells for between $40 and $60 (depending on where you buy it). I guess that's money that won't be going to Lego (or Barb's teeth).

What a fucking waste of money. I mean, I get that Chris thinks this whole retarded 'tomgirl' thing makes him a special fucking little snowflake and all, but come on? $60 for fucking perfume, which he no doubt bought from Wal-Mart or such, simply because its endorsed by a washed up celebrity? It wouldn't be quite as infuriating if it weren't for Chris' situation, but it'd still be pretty stupid.

Also, what's up with his obsession with Britney Spears anyway? She wasn't all that attractive to begin with, and her music is mediocre, inoffensive pop music at best, so I can't claim to understand his infatuation with her, but it's been... what? Fifteen years since she was even relevant in the first place. Yeah, yeah, I get that she was his celebrity crush back when he was in high school or something, but people grow. They develop. They change their interests. But not Chris. He's still interested in the same stuff he was interested in back in high school, and indeed, back then he was interested in little kids stuff.

I suppose that's what I'm getting at here. Chris' entire interest in pop culture seems to have crystallized in the mid-to-late 90s and never gone any further. Oh sure, he's interested in Legos now, but that was likely something he was into long before the internet became aware of his existence. The other stuff... Family Guy, MLP, Transformers, Sonic, Pokemon*... its all stuff he was into well over a decade ago, the only perceptible changes being his waist size and now occasionally drinking reeb with sugar in it. Indeed, even his fantasies about celebrities remain unchanged. He's still obsessed with Britney Spears and not, say, Taylor Swift or Jennifer Lawrence, or Emma Stone.

* By the way, for all of Chris' obsession with toys from the 80s and early-to-mid 90s, its rather striking that decidedly masculine toylines like G.I. Joe and He-Man never seemed to appeal to him, or at least, not that I'm aware of. Perhaps they gave him prickly wicklies. Or perhaps they were just male jerks, though in that case you'd still expect him to obsess over Scarlet or She-Ra or something.

She used to be a huge 'thing' in the 90's and prior to the outbreak of the internet and the wide wealth of internet amateur music and being able to find thousands of new bands in a moment's notice you listened whatever the Music Television / radios played and as a huge star, Britney Spears got a lot of exposure. She was an icon of the times that were important to Chris(Manchester High School) and he likes more girly stuff anyway so it's really no wonder that Chris has stuck with whatever he liked then. Music is ageless, it doesn't have to be "trendy" or "hip" for people to enjoy it so if Chris found that Britney Spears' music spoke to him the best, or touched him in that special place, then all the power to him, I guess.

The other stuff... Family Guy, MLP, Transformers, Sonic, Pokemon*... its all stuff he was into well over a decade ago..

Him liking stuff that was from decade or two ago ago isn't really much out of the ordinary, a lot of people like long-running franchises of video games / toys / television series they grew accustomed to. All of those franchises are still alive too, I might add.

In short, Chris not changing his interests in terms of entertainment since the mid-90's/early 2000's isn't that weird(though his brand-loyalty is sometimes kind of extreme),him still living the same lifestyle as in his childhood at 32 years old is.
