I read somewhere that Chris once got in trouble for hanging around McDonald's for hours and collecting all the newspapers left behind, so it sounds like a bulk of it comes from scavenging.

They're in a lower-middle class, upper-lower class, redneck neighborhood, so I doubt they think much of them aside from "that's where those weirdos live." They don't seem to interact with their neighbors much. Then again, the handful of examples we have of them actually interacting with neighbors - finding and trying to keep the dog, the "attack snake," Chris visibly hesitating to go get his ball from the neighbors' property in that soccer video, etc - show that the Chandlers are probably not good neighbors.

Without sounding dumb, do you mean social, economic, or both? Wasn't Bob an engineer?

I try not to be too hard on Bob being he tried he had faults and I don't like to speak ill of the dead. But he wasn't exactly haute culture nor did he adapt to trends. But that's a lot of engineering lol.

He had brains and skills and worked hard this doesn't mean you are classy. His tastes were simple music and burger King among his favorite things. triple his salary maybe they'd have a big house but he'd be taking his S class out for a whopper still not dining at Ruth Chris.

it's well known it's not a classy hood is what I was trying to restate as others did. I see no reason for you to be rude, if anything after it was said it's kinda a dumpy area you got defensive about bobs career and I simply pointed out that doesn't make you anything more than that line of work.

Because even a socially low class but economically upper middle person doesn't typically buy something in a super poor area. I was asking if it was an economically disadvantaged neighborhood or if you just mean they're a bunch of low class rednecks.

They're a bunch of low class rednecks living in a somewhat disadvantaged neighborhood. Not disadvantaged enough they don't own a house, but it isn't in great shape and neither is the neighborhood itself.
