Some people elsewhere believe that Chris was coerced or otherwise prodded into being a "female of the Soul"/tomgirl/whatever made up term he uses for his gender identity.
I might be reiterating stuff from previous statements but in short:
1) To the best of my knowledge, nobody convinced Chris to go full out tomgirl.
2) The closest thing to any sort of prodding was that a friend of his told him at one point to "embrace [his] feminine side" in a very vague fashion.
3) If there was some prodding involved, I don't think they had to prod hard.
This is the point I want to really discuss. Chris has been prodded into doing things, more than people realize. Thing is, it's like pulling teeth when it comes to getting Chris to doing something he doesn't necessarily wants to do. That's why you had Kacey who would nag him because otherwise Chris would not listen at all (not justifying Kacey's actions, merely that was part of the rationale for her behavior). Chris definitely isn't doing this begrudgingly. He's said he enjoys the feel of women's underwear on him, he likes putting on makeup, etc.
People think Chris really isn't transgendered because he half asses it, but by Chris standards, this is a pretty serious commitment. He's been doing this for about three years, he's very set about what he wants, he seems to get satisfaction from doing stuff as a woman, he's even willing to spend money on makeup and women's clothing. It's half assed compared to getting conversion therapy but it's pretty serious commitment compared to stunts of his where he did the trucker look.
I really think this is a culmination of deep seated desires Chris has had - think about how he recommend boys play with My Little Pony dolls, or how he said he would rather get a sex change operation than be gay (and if I'm not mistaken, that was from a conversation with Megan). You can read stuff he wrote before trolling about how he's felt more comfortable around women than with men. I used to think this was a way to attract women and maybe it started that way or that was the justification he gave others but now I sincerely believe he wants to be a woman. Likewise, I don't think he's gay anymore, I think he loves women so much, he wants to become one.
Personally, I hope Chris does get some sort of therapy to help figure out the best way to pursue his desired gender identity. If being a woman is what would make Chris happiest in the world, I hope he can get that someday.
