Oldish but still makes me cringe, please don't get your autism on the people working on the show.
This is why I feel sorry for the people who work on the show. They really do try to be progressive and inclusive, but it's never enough for the Tumblr special snowflakes. The character they're complaining about is canonically a lesbian, but instead of being happy about that, they're bitching about what pronouns she uses. It's ridiculous.

I was going through my "stupidity" tag and I figured I'd share some gems with you.

These types of posts irritate me completely. Not to mention the Bubonic Plague came from Asia through the Silk Road and it was carried by fleas on rats (though apparently they're now saying that it's gerbils that brought them).

Also, sorry for the crappy screencap. I took this with my tablet.

Of course!1!! White people are the only people in the world who do bad things. Only white people had slaves. Only white people can be racist. Only white people are responsible for epidemics (even ebola!11!!). White people didn't invent anything and stole everything from POC (did u know that Beethoven was black?!1!!). Only white people have no culture. Only white people start wars. White people can't wear dreads because since there were no white cultures (the celts didn't exist) it's evil cultural appropriation.

White people this, white people that. Blah blah blah.

Most of Tumblr slept through History class.

Tell me about it. They like to pick at certain historical events and use them to their favor, which saddens and annoys me as a history major.

I used to be on tumblr (but I have quit due to the constant circlejerk on my dashboard, SJW and bullshit fandom stuff). I am so glad I did.

This person knows that some Muslims are white right?

That's some of the dumbest shit I have read from a Tumblr post.

On Tumblr, white Muslims are usually dismissed as "appropriative shitlords" who want to steal Islam from "the strong, proud P.O.C.". On Tumblr, you're only respected as part of a group if you fit SJWs' ideas of what that group should be.
I was going to say I was confused but then I remember what kind of people we were talking about.

Is anyone else getting a lot of lynching related posts on their dash?

You know, its incredible really, if anyone had asked me a few years ago what are the chances that "a place for every nation, and every nation in its place" style nationalism would survive into the 21st century I would have said a flat "no". But here comes tumblr flat out hating on people trying to understand other cultures, learn languages or even on something as simple as cooking foreign foods. Truly, tumblr is full of surprises and great examples. Here, the left drift so far they come out sounded like the right

I don't visit tumblr at all, so I didn't know things had gotten this bad, but this is ridiculous... On one hand, it's hilarious. But at the same time, the blatant display of stupidity is infuriating...

This is pretty much why I don't browse it like I used to.

Yesterday there was a recital at my school featuring the students of the "improv ensemble" class. A Japanese classmate played a few Japanese folk songs with the assistance of a white, Italian guitarist. The Greek professor played a Greek folk song with the assistance of a white flute player and a white Jewish drummer. A Korean classmate who has immigrated from South Korea sang two Korean folk songs while dressed in traditional Korean clothing and with the assistance of the aforementioned white Jewish drummer, who was also wearing Korean clothing. And yet that drummer would have been immediately pointed at by everyone as being cultural appropriating the Korean clothing, even though it was almost definitely the Korean lady's idea to have both of them wear Korean clothing! Like, I just don't get how such a wonderful mix of cultures brought to us by natives of those countries can be so disliked because "cultural appropriation" and what have you. :(

Because they want to sound important while sitting on their ass and living off of their parents' money/house. Also they get asspats from other people when they pull this nonsense, serving as a reinforcement device. Also doesn't help that they are willingly ignorant, which means that they choose to pick their own answers, no matter how divorced from reality it may seem.

I wore a cheongsam to my high school prom.

None of the other prom dresses in the catalog looked like they would be comfortable to me, or even look good on me.

If I were ten years younger I would have gotten death threats on Tumblr for posting my prom pictures. :heart-empty:
