Honestly the thing that killed me was the SU staff member that said Tumblr used to be how she worked but then she went and got a job and realized that it isn't. Someone who was once like them, someone who "made it" spoke to them and they hated her for it.

Well, of course. She's "privileged" now.

What does she think is going to happen, that people are going to flood the tags with porn just because the creators said "draw what you want"? As if they have any power to stop people from drawing porn or any other objectionable material, or indeed if the people drawing porn care if it offends someone. Really, what are the creators going to do? Telling them to stop is just an empty gesture and would change nothing, not to mention they'd jump all over Rebecca Sugar because such a claim would make her a hypocrite.

I hate to bring up the whole Zamii070 drama again, but Tumblr has been engaged in a mass sperg-out over it. It started when the people behind Steven Universe caught wind of the whole mess, and once again told their fans to stop being terrible.

Spoiler: It's sad how aware they are of their fans' terribleness.

The fans didn't take well to the writers pointing out that they're losers and terrible people, and telling them to stop bullying people.

Goddamn it, I was actually proud of Ian for standing up for his own work. Now it seems like he's going to let tumblr beat him into submission. That's so disappointing. All he said was "let people draw what they want" and of course tumblr twisted it into "IT'S OKAY TO DRAW CHILD PORNOGRAPHY!" Don't they realize the weirdos who draw that stuff don't care what the creators think in the first place? They never have, and being politically correct isn't going to suddenly change that.

I really dislike how he let those entitled sods get to him. I mean this statement is okay and all, but the problem is, most of these tumblrites don't even KNOW the difference between bullying and criticism. And the ones that do tend to adapt their bullying tactics to make it look like criticism (ie grasping straws, linking it to psuedo sj shit) so it looks like they're doing the right thing.
