This is why I'm not going to police my language more than I already do. I also think it's pernicious to apologize to someone who has no standing to even be offended. People who are offended on someone else's behalf can go fuck themselves, and I'll go out of my way to give them something to be personally offended by. I am offended by how much effort goes into being offended about bullshit that doesn't even matter. One recent example is the stupidity about that old dude on Duck Dynasty having some retrograde opinions. So the fuck what? Do these people have no families? Everyone knows a guy like that. Who cares what some crazy old coot thinks?
It also irritates me that basically, they'd have him lie about it. If there's a "problem" about a guy like that it is the attitudes themselves, not the fact that he expressed them if you fucking ask him his opinion. Do these people really think they're advancing civilization by getting angry about some old redneck having old redneck opinions?

No, they're complaining about crackers just taking selfies because they want to, I'd see issues if they tagged their shit blackout/whiteout. But it's never anything like that.
The person who I follow that reblogged this is asian but to Tumblrites she's not dark enough to be considered poc so she's actually taking them seriously.

A friend of mine reblogged this recently, and I couldn't help but wonder why it's so important to have Chinese actors, I can't help but feel this isn't about realism. Because, well, it's tumblr and race.

^ I've seen a couple posts like this. One involved the OP posting some fancasts that were all very nice, and someone else bawwing that some of them were actually Japanese or Korean actors and not Chinese and that OP was bad and should feel bad. I bet anything no matter who they cast or how well they play their role, it won't be good enough, because chances are the actors will be Asian-American and not true and honest Chinese people.
It's such a bummer because Mulan is possibly my favorite Disney movie and I don't want to blacklist it, but these kinds of posts are shitting up the tag.

What I found most weird is the person who reblogged this was getting very OTT about there being people who thought a black James Bond was sort of out of place considering he's meant to be 100% Scottish. I've been around the Tumblr SJ block a time or two, and usually I can decode these vague, unexplained circlejerk-inducing statements. But I can't make heads or tails of this one. Is it a joke? Please tell me it's a joke. What the fuck does this mean?

Like...I've been looking at it for a few minutes and the best I can come up with is this:
Since heterosexual means "attracted to member of a different sex/gender", maybe they mean like a cis person and a non-binary person would be technically heterosexual? I don't know?
But if that's the case, when the fuck did "straight" become specifically cisman x ciswoman? "Straight" is just a synonym for "heterosexual".

Usually, I'm honestly for the creation of new terms in a lot of cases if it helps. But this just boggles the mind.

I think I actually understand this, though I still think it's stupid and more than a little nitpicky.
See, there's this concept (and it's not without merit, honestly) that your romantic orientation doesn't always match your sexual orientation--this usually comes up in terms of asexuals who still feel romantic attraction or aromantics who still feel sexual attraction, but my understanding is that it's sometimes used in other contexts as well. So for instance, if you were female and only sexually attracted to other females, but were romantically attracted to both males and females, you'd be homosexual, but biromantic.
So if someone was, say, asexual but heteroromantic, they could still be considered straight, but not heterosexual.
I think that's what the post is getting at, anyway? Hard to say, and it's so nitpicky that even though it's arguably a valid point it's still eyeroll-inducing as hell, but yeah.
