The way that Tumblr has latched onto this game like a parasite; it's only a matter of time before the Overwatch fandom gets a thread here. Because holy hell imagine being this autistic about shipping.

I like how they try to forbid people from shipping D.va with anyone because she's 19, which apparently means she's a damn baby even though she is older than the age of consent. A lot of these people act like weird Victorian Era puritans, yet they preach things like "sex positivity" and participate in slut walks.

It's a weird mash-up of "Women can have sex anytime they want, any questions on that are the most horriblist-horrible thing to ever exist, how dare you judge us" mixed with "No woman can actually consent to sex because she is always forced into it by Chrisofascistpatriarchy, women will say yes when they don't want to have sex because society-intersectionalism-insert random 'ist' into the mix." And both of these incoherent thoughts are both completely true and held at the same time.

At least the Victorians had fun books and pretty clothes- and a philosophy that at least KIND OF didn't implode on itself. :| We're on a definite downward trend here: they had Charles Dickens, and we have Stephanie Myers. :(

There was plenty of garbage literature in the 19th century, it just hasn't been remembered. Do you honestly think anyone will give a shit about Twilight in 2150?

Kin almost make the whole 'gender is just a social construct' crowd look normal
Back in my day, we just called that "liking [that character.]" We never thought we WERE them- not even the real crazies did that. :x Fandom is dying in a fire of its own setting. :'(

Back in my day, we called that "playing pretend" where we acted like the character. We were 8 and did stupid shit like trying to spindash or fly because were kids and not grown ass adults.

I only got into fan stuff in my teens, but I didn't do pretends or whatever, and neither did anyone I know- but we usually had a few characters we liked more than the others. That was it. :( I was talking about teens/adults online and how they fan.

But yeah, very good point. They do remind me of little kids, but so much more vicious and vulgar- it's like they cling to the shortcomings of both agree brackets. :(

Here's some more of Tumblr failing to appreciate the brilliant webcomic Achewood.

The censorship of the word "retarded" is the best part.

Philippe is five years old. The description is pretty tongue-in-cheek, because he's eternally five and never ages.

Although, thanks to these dummies, I've been re-reading Achewood. It's so freakin' good.
