You heard it here folks--burning the flag is okay because your candidate lost.

It's an outrageous act...and yet still acceptable because "the country has let them down."

I don't think it's that outrageous anymore. It used to be a big fucking thing, but nowadays you don't hear much about it.

This shit is the same every election cycle anyway, or at least the Obama-Romney one in 2012—fearmongering about how you need to vote Democrat or the Republican candidate will strip you of all your rights as a minority. It demonstrates a misunderstanding of how much the president can actually at best.

I remember the Bush years. Everybody was talking about how, when the Republicans had control of all three legislative branches, we were heading for bad times; the Patriot Act and the NSA and all that. Two years after the 2004 election, the Democrats regained one of the legislatures.

Our political memory seems to be really short.

I remember back in 2012 people were ranting the same thing about Romney as they do with Trump nowadays (although Trump has been much more extreme, but I think that's due to Internet journalism and social media becoming more mainstream in the following years, and well, Mr Trump has just more juice to milk of). And lots of brats claiming how they'll emigrate to Canada if Romney won, etc.

Now you ask a random tumblrite about this and they'll be "Romney who?"

I think most of tumblr's demographic is too young to fully remember the Bush years. They were probably around 6 - 10 years old when he left office.

Well, remember thatickything? Well, she is chimping out over Trump getting elected as President that she is wishing for anyone that did not vote for Hillary Clinton (such as Trump supporters and even Third-Party voters) death, kind of like how one of our lolcows Jerry Peet has wished violence and death on all Republicans just because of the fact that they're a Republican. So not only is she contiuing to vagueblog about popular artists who got tired of her personality, she's also going full on Jerry Peet levels of batshit crazy. I know I have posted some of her chimpouts before, but she is chimping out extra hard now.

She easily warrants a thread in my opinion at this point.

Eh, the way I've always seen it, it's just a piece of cloth. Do with it what you will.

If you're not talking about something TWENTY FOUR SEVEN, then I guess that must mean that it doesn't mean jack shit to you, and you've forgotten all about it.
