See, that's kinda how I've been with the movie, only saw it once or twice as a kid, barely remember it, but I don't waste my time getting angry and complaining about media I barely remember a thing of. Why can't tumblr do the same?
Because childhood nostalgia is safe and known. The real world is full of new and scary things like 'social responsibility' and 'health' and sometimes other people are MEAN and they're not emotionally equipped to deal with it.

In the book Miss Trunchbull picks a small girl (Amanda Thripp! God, I loved that book) up by the pigtails and hammer throws her clear across the playground because she hates small girls with pigtails just that fucking much, and if you didn't find that terrifyingly awesome when you were seven I don't know what to tell you. Also, she wasn't shamed out of teaching g because she was big and strong, she was chased out because she was a violent fraudster who had cheated Matilda's teacher of her inheritance, her home, and her wages. God, it's like OP doesn't even Matilda if she can't get that much right, and what the fuck kind of weirdo kid reads Matilda and wants to be one of the adults, anyway?

I suppose I should apologise to Ms Triggered of Tumblr for reading Matilda so many times as a prepubscent shitlord that I basically still have it off by heart 25 years later now?

The movie version actually tames it down quite a bit. The book heavily implies that Miss Trunchbull straight up murders Matilda's teacher's father by poisoning him.

Checked Bearglitch's tumblr.

Sorry dude. Poe.

Anti game of thrones book snobs always complain about the changes of the show, but I never see them complaining about other movies/shows "not being like the books omg" . I'm betting they probably only read the got books, and act so superior about it...

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm a staunch book snob, but the first three seasons of the show were good. I don't think any book snobs complain about the first few seasons. It's in late s3 and early s4 when the show writers started trying to spice things up by killing off characters that aren't dead in the books, adding subplots that aren't there in the books, and making weird distracting side characters. Like, fuck this weird direction they've taken Sansa.

Having Jaime rape Cersei when they were still supposed to be getting along okay was weird and jarring. The show is already full of rape! You can show some other rapes, if you want to show some rapes.

Having Ramsay Snow explicitly cut Theon's dick off was disappointing, because in the books it was a whole indirect metaphor for being emasculated by his new position and broken by torture instead of, uh, literal dick chop.

Also where the fuck is my girl Jeyne Poole and why did they marry Sansa off to that dick-chopper.

I bet you any amount of money we won't see Falia Flowers in the show and they'll just replace her with Generic Topless Women #1-3.

It feels like I'm watching a spinoff based on the original story, or the show writers' weird fan fiction. It's fine, it's just not the story I thought I was getting when I signed up for a TV adaptation of ASOIAF. :(

I love how the responsibility is always on Big Guvmint and Evil Corps, and never on the individual. Sure, it's plausible that an employee at a financial institution could've miscoded a form, but I'm inclined to believe that fuck up came from the kid that was too shortsighted to realize they needed to pay income tax on their freelance income.

There's really no excuse for fucking up your taxes because even if you don't want to do it yourself with a cheap or free programs, the IRS actually has a program where you can have people do your taxes for free so long as you fit the income bracket... which this person clearly does. It's literally the first result when you google "free income tax help" but I guess we shouldn't expect these kind of people to take two seconds to do a search to fix their problems.
