Not to mention it was the early 1900's, and calling themselves good friends or just simply living together is not really the same freedom lesbians have today in the USA. There were still laws, still major hangups -I really doubt that rich closeted lesbian would have risked being with the poor butch lesbian back, unhappy marriage to a man or not. Like, it was a totally different era with different societal expectations that shaped people, and being with a poor dude was way different then being with a poor woman, especially one so obviously lesbian. That would have gotten Rose lobotomized or something.

One of the biggest pet peeves I have about that site is how they'll take a historical story and make it gay but ignore how society was with gay people in the past when it'd be obviously inaccurate. It wouldn't end happily, most likely. The sad story would be that hypothetically the young woman would stay in a loveless marriage. It doesn't work.

Men also get sexually harassed, and breaking news: sometimes it's by women. People do not believe male victims if it's female on male because "men can't get raped by women". Feminism is supposed to be about equality, right? Then, male, female or whatever, you should leave room to talk about male victims and how toxic masculinity can impact the way they react to being assaulted. Sometimes, men can't do everything on their own, believe it or not. The separation of movements for harassment victims would just create another split between the two genders.

If men created a group to talk about men being sexually harassed, it would immediately be lumped under MRAs and silenced as being sexist, bigoted, and nonexistent.
Men actually did create a shelter for boys and men who were abused. I can’t find a source right now but as you’d expect it got vandalized so much to the point it shut down.

Gay Tumblr legit sounding paranoid here. Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but being gay is way more accepted these days than it was in the 1980's and 1990's (when I grew up) or in the days of Matthew Shepard. (Which I actually remember.) Maybe in some areas in the United States or other first world countries like smaller states it's harder, but in bigger areas I thought you wouldn't get beat down for holding hands with someone the same sex as you.
I've seen a lot of young gay people on Tumblr who are legit paranoid and it's kind of disturbing.
Wait, hold up: the OP's from the Bay Area. They definitely don't have that problem. Bullshit, OP.

Being gay is considered nearly as boring as straight by most of Tumblr these days. Trans and other forms of genderspecial are where it's at. Unless you live in some ultra conservative church town in the middle of nowhere I'd think not many people would give a rat's ass if you are gay. In my experience it's mostly older people who still talk about being gay like it's some scandal. there are still closeted Hollywood folks too. You'd think Tom Cruise would come out already at a time where people wouldn't give a fuck. But Scientology...

Some Tumblr kid from the Bay Area probably has never been accosted for being gay. But they need those sweet victim points.

I heard about that. I think it triggered some feminists or something. There's a lot of homeless men and male teens on the streets with nowhere to go. There are women's shelters but very few options for men who feel traumatized by women.

An old school feminist actually tried to start a men's shelter. In the UK I think. She got death threats and eventually had to shut it down. Her own group turned against her and I think she left the feminist organization after.

Nobody cares these days if two gay people walk around hand in hand. Anyone who says otherwise obviously doesn't go outside much.

Tumblr sure loves to jump on rumors and act like they're real so they can get on some soapbox and rant. By the way, that person has a fucking ugly blog design.
Even if the rumor is true, he’s a goddamned child. He was raised by people who are obviously assholes. He can move on from all of this (well, not easily by the looks of that video going viral and whatnot) and has plenty of time to learn from his mistakes.

Also apparently it’s trendy to have eye-searing and impossible to navigate blogs on Tumblr for “aesthetic” purposes or something idk.

idek what that is
A few years ago Tumblr staff decided to play an April fool's prank on it's users. If you clicked the Tumblr pro free" it lead to to a video. It was just some narrator talking about the future of social media accompanied by some generic stock videos. Then it redirects you to your dashboard and places a top hat on your avatar. And thats it.

It was the most innocent and in offensive prank ever, yet somehow retards managed to get #triggered over it.
