Pardon the double post, but I felt this deserved its own.
Apparently #BlackLivesMatter supporters are staging a Tumblr boycott on March 5th, planning to not log in for 24 hours to show the Tumblr staff... something. Apparently it's to punish them for not getting involved in BLM or putting up a little thingie at the top of the website for Black History Month. Never mind that Black History Month-related posts have been showing up on the Tumblr radar or anything. Who gives a fuck about
Matthew Henson, anyway?
I'm curious to see how this goes, since last year's BLM protest was the #blackout hashtag, which consisted solely of black Tumblr taking selfies, and Tumblr loves its selfies. But going without Tumblr for a full 24 hours?
I still don't see this accomplishing much of anything and I'm still not sure what the goal even is supposed to be.
