I was just about to post this here, and I arrive to see we're already on this topic. How convenient.

Shutting down a site of 6 second videos is "anti black" and we're losing an "art."

The six-second format opened the door for a lot of creativity that's going to be lost, so I think that's a bummer. A lot of popular viners also happened to be black, but I don't think their popularity has anything to do with it being shut down. Rather, Vine just ended up being a lot more niche than Twitter, and thus not as profitable.

Also it figures it's being shut down as soon as I finally join and make an account.

I think that with Twitter being able to hold onto videos far more longer than 6 seconds, Vine features could be integrated into Twitter app. I could see that happening really easily. If Vine is already owned by Twitter, why not go integrate those two, now I don't even see a point of Vine existing as standalone app.

Even tho Vine gave us some of the best story telling in 6 seconds. Shit was funny.

Folx is the worst though. I can't tell if it's because they're too lazy to type out folks, don't realise folk is already plural, or genuinely think that putting Xs in words makes them more social justicy (see: Latinx)

The alleged point of the whole "x" suffix is for the term to be more "gender neutral", but in actuality tends to sound fucking retarded

Awhile back they literally came out with a "gender neutral" alternative to Mrs. or Mr. - "Mx." - and yes, it's as stupid as it sounds

I'm bisexual, and I don't give a shit about whether someone is straight or not because I'm not a fucking label whore

Edit: Shit, I meant to merge this into my previous post, but I'm on mobile and fucked the posts up. Just merge this with my previous response

SJWs for some reason tend to gravitate towards phrases like that -i.e "PoC" literally just being a nicer way of saying "colored people"

Ironically, some people say that using the term is contradictory in itself.

Of course tumblr would make it about racism.

TBH they've got a point. Why would people lump together asian issues, black issues, etc etc, all together; as if they share the same culture, history, language? Why should a latino man in Argentina care about the issues of an African American in the United States, when it barely concerns him and they share nothing in common? And "POCs" in America don't have the same historical context as "POCs" in other countries, so again, I fail to see why would they connect...

Because whitey is literally raping and murdering every single one of them just by existing, so they should gather together in peace and harmony to murder all white people.

It's tumblr logic. They seriously think that if you're white, you're the devil. If you aren't, you are perfect and above receiving any form of criticism.

...why would you even follow a blog that posts nothing but colours if a certain colour upsets you. On another note why does a colour even upset you. What.
On top of that, asking someone to go back through literally thousands of posts to tag a particular colour which is highly subjective because of how people perceive colour differently and how different screens display it differently. Where do you even stop?
The person who runs the blog deleted the post pretty quickly since people were replying to it saying the anon ask was a stupid over-sensitive baby. How do these freaks even function irl?? honestly

Six genders? Where does it say so in the Old Testament? There's just man and woman in there.

This actually came up in the Assigned Male thread,

So I asked a Jew I know and got this

There are actually six separate genders listed in classical Jewish texts. Here’s a copy and paste from this source:

  • Zachar: This term is derived from the word for a pointy sword and refers to a phallus. It is usually translated as “male” in English.
  • Nekevah: This term is derived from the word for a crevice and probably refers to a vaginal opening. It is usually translated as “female” in English.
  • Androgynos: A person who has both “male” and “female” sexual characteristics. 149 references in Mishna and Talmud (1st-8th Centuries CE); 350 in classical midrash and Jewish law codes (2nd -16th Centuries CE).
  • Tumtum: A person whose sexual characteristics are indeterminate or obscured. 181 references in Mishna and Talmud; 335 in classical midrash and Jewish law codes.
  • Ay’lonit: A person who is identified as “female” at birth but develops “male” characteristics at puberty and is infertile. 80 references in Mishna and Talmud; 40 in classical midrash and Jewish law codes.
  • Saris: A person who is identified as “male” at birth but develops “female” characteristics as puberty and/or is lacking a penis. A saris can be “naturally” a saris (saris hamah), or become one through human intervention (saris adam). 156 references in mishna and Talmud; 379 in classical midrash and Jewish law codes.
But, essentially, they’re:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Intersex
  • Intersex/of unknown gender
  • Intersex
  • Intersex/trans female
They’re basically ancient terms for things that we already know now. There are still only two genders.
