There's no history of institutional racism against white people in the western world, though. The examples that do exist are usually against certain ethnicities, like the Irish, Poles, Italians, Welsh... but not white people as a whole. It's only in the past few years we're seeing anything close to systematic racism against white people, and it's confined mostly to places where SJW groupthink has taken over; college campuses and tech companies like Google and YouTube. And even in those cases, a lot of it ends up being a messy cover-up for discrimination against the very people the SJWs claim they're trying to protect, which are women and minorities.
Meanwhile there's more historical precedent for racism against non-white races. Blacks were subject to slavery, Asians were exploited as cheap labor and there's plenty of history of xenophobia against middle eastern people. This doesn't appear to be a case of a working-class white boy being targeted by college kids for being from the Appalachians or being poor or working class. This is a rich kid REEEEEEing over somebody not-so-subtly pointing out he's being a dickhead and then proving how fucking hypocritical he is.
Let's be honest here, nobody really feels bad for the poor widdle white bread, trust-fund kiddie attention whore who's trying to show how very, very hurt he is by being called a cracker, a racial slur considered so inoffensive it's practically a joke. Most of the people that find it offensive are children or racists themselves. There are genuine cases on college campuses of people being targeted for far, far less than this guy has done, who have their whiteness thrown in their face as proof that they're bad people just for questioning the cult-like mentality of leftist identity politics. A lot of these people are life-long leftists themselves, people who have fought against racism, only to be told to shut up because they disagreed slightly on some policy and they're white, therefore they're monsters.
