Rowling's new obsession with going "No, character X was actually gay/trans/Asian/Muslim/Black/etc. the whole time!" is pretty silly, and I really don't get the appeal of Harry Potter to anyone who isn't a kid, but she's not obligated to write whatever some woman-children on Tumblr want her to.

I don't know why she continues to do this kind of pandering. All she ever gets out of it is an endless stream of shit from former fans trying to prove their own wokeness.

She'd be better off going full J.D. Salinger and just never going into public again.

No offense to this Tweeter, but he's kind of late on the "millennial life sucks" and "Trump sucks" thing. Like 2 years late, and he's overreacting too. Children have gotten over all of their problems for the most part so saying that this world is a "dystopia" is wrong. A dystopia would probably involve everyone being slaves to a dictator. (I know he'd say that about Trump but honestly Trump hasn't really done anything super controversial besides wanting to build a wall near Mexico and pushing out illegal immigrants)

Trump's done plenty of controversial shit, but he's not a dictator. You can tell he's really miffed about it, too. Why do you think he's so fond of Putin and now Kim Jong-un? The man doesn't have many friends in Washington and Republicans put up with him because he invigorates the base. If he was able to do half the shit he wanted to do, you could certainly make the argument that yes, we really are living in a dystopia. Call me optimistic, but I don't think we're there quite yet.

... Also I'm really sick of people comparing Current Year to YA novels and popular movie franchises. Score some obscure nerd points at least. I feel like Trump's presidency is more akin to The Mouse that Roared.
