GMOs aren't bad; they can increase harvests, decreasing world hunger. They still need to be pollenated, so bees are still important. Some companies who make GMOs force farmers to buy them year after year instead of replanting, but hate the seller, not the product.

It's like they think that you have to have a disorder in order to do anything useful. Are they making a commentary on how some people think that having a mental disorder makes you an unproductive member of society by flipping that stereotype on its head, or are they just totally oblivious?

It still seems like a hamfisted and really awkward way to pander to people that have such a bloody issue with pronouns. Come to think of it, wouldn't it be much simpler to actually register the options the player takes instead of ignoring them, as well as having a ''sir/madam'' option so that everyone would be satisfied?

I don't know very much about the situation, and the post that explains it is long and boring, but here's a clipping of some drama from a Pokemon RP group when some Greenkin kept being told that Gary and Green are the same character:
The user vomited, self-harmed, starved "xyrself", and skipped school for a week because of their disassociation from being told two counterpart characters are the same character.

They are correct though, Green and Gary aren't the same character. They take on the same roles in their respective universes (main rival of the main character, grandson of Professor Oak, cocky little shit) but they aren't identical or interchangeable.
But goddamn. Why is it even insulting to be compared to Gary? He won 10 out of 8 badges and has hoards of fangirls. Dude goes hard as fuck.

The entire post about the drama can be found archived here. It's a difficult read though and way long.
This seems to be their tumblr that those posts were made on, while this seems to be their personal URL. I don't see much of note on them besides their information (which is pretty run-of-the-mill system tumblr users) and the recent drama.
EDIT:
It's spawned by a fucking Pokemon Roleplay of all things. Both they ("xy"??? "xe"???) and the person talking about Green and Gary being the same character were a part of the roleplay. The roleplay had a rule about not accepting multiple versions of characters because counterparts may overlap in what they've done. Counterparts of characters already in the RP joined without asking and people complained about them being the same characters. A Green and a Gary were both already in the roleplay and apparently the Gary was saying that Green and Gary are the same, or at least similar enough.
That's it. That's what set this person off.
It's pretty clear the Gary was straight up trolling, true to his "muse" as the youth say, but the entire post was pretty much a call-out of the Gary and claims that he had harrassed tumblr users in the past.
However, this Gary roleplayer themself is also an otherkin. Of course.

Throwing tantrums and crying is what children do! People like this person have literally the mindset of a child. Also fucking crytyping but the tags are spelled correct. This happens every time and they don't even notice it.
