She still managed to enter CalArts while all that stuff happened, but it sure is gonna cut her from applying into big studios, not that I think she has the talent for it as a start. That said, if she has the connections (which she doesn't), she may still have a chance to enter the industry.
I don't want to see her going into animation, especially if it's just because she studied in CalArts, while her pretentious ass have been getting lazier and hornier. So I do hope recruiters are gonna look further than just the school name.

I came back here half expecting some more shit hitting the fan and am mildly disappointed that there hasn't been any, and she seems to be doing damage control.

Part of why Rory is so disliked even among tumblr users is because, when called out, she would issue a half-assed apology which would shortly be followed by her repeating her actions again. That's exactly why she's such a great lolcow to find content from, when you consider that Chris exhibits more or less similar behaviour (minus the part where he issues an apology).

I do hope she takes the last Finn incident as a moment to finally reevalute herself since she seems to have particularly snapped this time. She's never been gone this long. I can't imagine staying off the radar this long and I'm not even in the position of being internet famous where I would constantly be starving for likes and RTs or something. Hm that’s more less what I think happened. As in, she had never drawn a trans person like that before and then while drawing the stylized (Crappy) garnet body on Captain she went “fuck that’s hot.” and it went downhill from there. :horrifying:

The breaking moment had to be the vandalized poster. It was a maximum roll crit on her ego and made her deftly aware of how her internet shenanigans was poisoning her real life. Her immortal plot armor was shattered, leaving her vulnerable.

Where can she go from here? Return to doing the same shit? The stars wars pic made her a huge target, so posting new art leaves her open to more attacks. She can't afford to ignore critics anymore, but how does a person recover from a tidal wave like this?

We've seen in her old art and school assignments that she's capable of drawing in a different and frankly nicer style. unless drawing bimbo Cap has rewired her hands to draw that way permanently

If Rory rebrands I hope she does so with a major change of attitude. If you recall, thumbcramps, a fellow lolcow tumblr artist, also rebranded as whimsipop but virtually changed nothing other than her username. People are still giving them shit on twitter.

Snapesnogger mellowed out after a similar situation and today exists as Owlygem, causing relatively very little drama in comparison to her old self.

just joined the farms today with the sole purpose of commenting here. I've been following rory's shenanigans for months and the entire ordeal fascinates me...I have a feeling this is still far from over, and I look forward to seeing what happens next during her remaining time at calarts with great curiosity (and plenty of popcorn).

A few pages ago I mentioned that there was a student that attempted to have a talk with Rory. I had the chance to actually ask her about how it went and apparently plans for the talk fell through. She told me Rory would take days to reply to a simple message and it seemed almost like she was trying to avoid confrontation. She said gave up on trying to contact Rory further because it seemed like nothing would come from it.
Beyond that, everyone has forgotten about this incident since it is film crunch here. Everyone has more important things to worry about beyond Rory's antics.
One thing I would like to add is that despite all of this, Rory will most likely still be able to get a job in the industry. Of course, animation is a very small industry, and having any sort of unfortunate attitude or habits will leave a bad impression on others. On a positive not,e I can say though, is that many students here as well as younger graduates that keep up with places like this will definitely remember her antics if working with Rory comes into the equation somehow in the future.

I'm sorry, but I kind of agree with the Op here. Yeah, there are black people with big lips, but I doubt you've seen it take up half of their face. There's a difference between drawing a normal black person and a racist caricature. Rory's falls waaayy too much into the latter.
