The porn isn't an issue in the arts industry. Plenty of famous animators draw tons of it (just for aspiring artists; don't connect it to your real name and you will be fine).

Typically if an artist continues to draw the same thing over and over again it causes them to become very niche, very limited. They never develop and continue this cycle of neverending obsessive drawing on one particular thing.

Rory is pretty much Tom Preston at this point. With the classic "I went to an art college and you didn't so you don't know shit",the egotism with their art being superior compared to everyone and overall attitude, I would not be surprised if Rory barely improves in the next few years.
CalArts might get you through the door, but like Preston has shown us, a degree doesn't mean jackshit if you aren't good and don't better yourself.

Here's the thing: yeah, famous artist draw porn all the time, they just don't connect to their name.
Rebecca Sugar drew porn of Ed, Edd, and Eddy and she's gainfully employed. But it was limited, she was young, and you'd have to be aware of it to even find it.
This chick isn't as talented as she thinks she is (there's no way her parents aren't paying full room and board) and her name only comes up with her terrible porn drawings.
I'm sure she'll get a job or have a successful porn patreon, but she's always going to be known as the weird transgender fetishest. And that's if her skills don't deteriorate. Other than the networking possibilities, art school isn't needed if you're talented. I know several people who've made it animation without any post secondary training.
It's not like some fields where you need a degree to get in the door.
If your untalented, it's more useful because you might make a connection and get an entry level gig just out of pity.
But animation is a real grind. Chances are you're just going to be a grunt, overworked, on a deadline, and working on someone else's design and story, with little to no job security.

I knew tumblr was big on the "genderbends should only change gender! gender doesnt change presentation!" but at this point why even do it at all.

Only I think Rory will probably be more in the Preston camp of not wanting to take any concrit and generally be an egotistical ass, rather than actually putting in some effort to eventually listen and improve like Gemma eventually did. The sad part is that she has the shield of SJW-ism to protect her -or so she's deluded herself into thinking-, when it's clear as day to anyone with a lick of common sense that she's fetishising FTMs in the worst way possible. Also re: porn and professionals; Otto Schmidt is known for his dickgirl porn, yet he's got a job doing art in 'Green Arrow' right now. But Rory?
