At least I can be comforted with the thought that because of her terrible attitude and her bad art (which she won't try to fix because she's arrogant as hell) she probably won't be able to hold a job in the art field for long if at all.

I think the bad attitude will be more of a damning trait than the dubious quality fanart. She's actually a competent artist when she's not drawing cartoon racist caricature fetish garbage. But that attitude, man, it's going to be impossible for her to collaborate with anyone or address professional critique in a mature way.

What I think is the most interesting about all this is that Rory seems more like the purest possible avatar for "tumblr art" to ever exist.
So yes, Rory is some crazy fetishist using tranny shit as a smokescreen for the fact that she's just really fucking weird. But exactly what separates her from literally every other "artist" on tumblr? In many ways, I'd argue she exemplifies the concept.
See, best as I can tell, the tumblr "art" scene is entirely comprised of this weird tranny fetish shit, screenshots of color gradients labeled "aesthetic", and plebcomics poking fun at the aforementioned tranny shit while gradually growing sadder by the day. Most of the artists usually have a middling level of skill at best, but never enough to be notable, so they do some hackneyed LGBT bullshit about Steven Universe or Splatoon and call it a day. They don't have the actual talent or skill to have their work speak for itself, so they piggyback on whatever the hot issue of the day is.
Thus, it ends up with literally all of it being the same pastel colored sparkly faggot shit, and one artist's work sort of blends into the others.
Rory just seems like the apex of that. It's some awkward kid with a fucked up sexuality and identity, weird drawings that aren't notable outside of the person drawing them, and very little else worth noticing about them. From the work to the person, there's just nothing remotely distinct.
Were I a cynical man, I'd almost put forth the idea that they only do it for attention or something.

Well tumblr doesnt acknowledge original art at all unless youre an already established artist so young artists resort to the pastel genderbullshit to gain some attention, get fans etc. But then even when they post some original art it wont get nearly as much notes as fanart or gendershit they get discouraged and continue with tumblr-approved art.
This is kind of why i dont post on tumblr anymore. There really arent good art communities

Exactly. They adore it when established characters from media they watch are butchered and turned fat blobs with pastel colors and leveled up batshit insane gender and sexuality labels but not because they truly find it sexy.
They are either forcing themselves to like it because it's the new norm of what is good in their shitty community or they feel validated by people making the established characters as ugly as themselves.

Also, what everyone else is saying is basically true. Most older SJW-type artists on Tumblr have the stunted mindset of teenagers, meaning everything is a popularity contest for them. They then use that mindset to elevate themselves and to attract other, ACTUAL, impressionable teenagers to them, who also want to be popular, so they all end up copying them for approval points. Which, if they get one thing wrong, then they get immediately ostracized and shunned from the hivemind.
It's been said before but it bears repeating again, it's a lot like a cult. Or an abusive relationship. I suppose we should all just be thankful Tumblr's sphere of influence is...relatively small.
I've seen a lot of artists jumping to Instagram or Twitter as a result of that.
