Artcow rcdart / Rory Cummings-Dise - Tranny Fetishist who Torpedoed a Potential Animation Career

Mostly I am saying that if you're going to red line you might as well have a good red line. Or else you're just doing crappy doodles on top of their crappy doodles and that doesn't make for any kind of interesting commentary.
Of course. But the problem with Tranlord's skeleton redlines isn't that they're for funs' sake, or even that they're exaggerated inaccurately for funs' sake, it's that they have to be so exaggerated and still aren't very funny. :offtopic:Also, he's bad at estimating where hidden body parts are.:offtopic:

The skeleton redlines aren't fun or goofy because Rory's art, simply, is not that bad on the basic proportional frame level. If anything, it's sort of bland. Fingertips always reach the mid-thigh, despite that one tryhard Twitter post she made forever ago feigning ignorance of it. Hands are always as large as faces. Thighs and calves aren't ever too long or short for eachother, same with arms and forearms. Her only real, big problems aren't funny or goofy, just oddly-shaped ribcages and drawing "hips" as just big thighs. And those are common of the Steven Universe ripoff style, not individual to her spectacular failures.

Anatomically speaking, she does the skeleton okay. The muscle, fat, and facial features on top, that's where it hits the shitter.

Especially on the faces. Someone pointed out earlier in the thread that Rory's face shapes are totally acceptable, if not good, cartoon faces, but she just messes up the features. She doesn't draw eyes as balls in the sockets, she draws them as puffy stickers on a featureless face. Same thing with the eyebrows, lips and noses.

This might be what really sells the Muppets look, too. Muppets are made by taking a featureless, flat face shape, and sewing the features on as separate pieces, with no structural connection to the "base" head besides some bits of thread. The 3D form of how Rory draws.

Her fat and "muscle" looks more like a child put misshapen balls of Play-Doh over a skeleton toy.
And not only in her art. ;)

An obvious example of Rory's technical problems regardless of stylisation:

Rory "God's gift to fandom" Cummings-Dise desn't understad that even cartoon people are supposed to have limbs of equal length.
This ones actually a perspective issue; they're completely inept at it. They pretty much never draw feet in perspective properly and these uneven legs are attempts to push the back leg back in space but not quite managing it.

God it bothers me so much that I can't identify any landmarks on her figures. No joints, no bones, they're just ugly looking play-doh people. God one of the first things they drill into you in life drawing is adequately depicting where body parts bend, Rory. You fucking hack.

Actually, there's a few short videos on her Twitter and Instagram.
I know next to nothing about animation but they look pretty shitty to me.
They're not awful for sketchy animation, but the character design just doesn't work (like the circle hands; you can't tell what direction they're facing. Eye choice doesn't allow any expression, etc).

my thoughts exactly. the stylization is probably the main thing holding those animations back from being good.
the art style she uses is ugly and looks bad in general, but it looks even more jarring when animated. if she fixed the faces, hands, feet, and toned down the 2 kwirky 4 u stylization, i could see it going somewhere.

but she won't change any of that lol, if anything it'll just regress further.
